4.4s to 100kmh for E63 LOL. They don't know how to drive...
Its not about driving. Those turbo engines doesnt suit the climate. Like they said in the video, its all about conditions. And how is it difficult to drive when you have AWD, launch control and automatic fakebox? ;)

That's a good time for a lardy Merc doesn't you think. :D

In all seriousness all they appear to be doing is mashing the throttle but this is probably closer to real world reality than using any launch control system.

Soo boring, just hold the steering wheel and put the throttle to the floor. Where is the challenge/fun in that?

Because it's the best way to show which one is faster. They could use a sequence but then it has to be focused on engine speed and easy to make a mistake.

Frankly a sticky drag strip is nothing like public roads so what's the point of this or any test conducted on such a surface?

it was RWD E63 AMG S so it is only 0,3 sec behind official figures. You can put it down to the greasy track and hot weather.

For example in the UK S model is available only with RWD.

It's odd but on the e-brochure in the section of the E63S it shows a drivetrain cut-away that I assume is a transfer box with front prop shaft returning to the front diff at the side of the gearbox, meaning it's AWD.

But as this is an image of a LHD version I wonder have Mercedes UK put the wrong image on their brochure?

RHD E63/CLS AMG S models have only RWD. It is 0,1 sec quicker to 100 than the normal 410kw model. It is even said in the video, that both cars are RWD.

It's a mistake. The AMG S in South Africa, Australia etc has RWD only.

Majority of world uses LHD layout, so your special RWD S model is so irrelevant for me. You (RHD) always have to be different.

As far
Obviously you don't take part of normal street racing meets. It's hella fun!

I dont mind racing but with automatic and launch control on it doesnt give you much of a challenge. You just hold the steering wheel and let the car do the rest. My grandmother can to the same and still win. Bloody boring way to race...but if thats your way of fun...LOL at you.
