It does seem like carwow does take criticism to heart instead of doing a rolling run in 3rd gear they now put the car in automatic in their sportiest setting which I believe is the best representation of what happens in the real world.

Maybe because it would take longer to catch Tesla in other circumpstances.

I doubt it,in a previous video they put all the cars in 3rd gear against a Tesla Model S, I think all the backlash they receive might have made them adjust their testing, they did previously test these cars in comfort mode. The next drag race will give us an indication.

One thing that I really love about these 3x cars is the fantastic music that comes out of their tailpipes and that they are the last models to use high revving normally aspirated V8's. The current models just dont have the character or the emotional pull of these previous gen models.
