CLS-Class (C219) CLS, coupe or sedan?

I said it before and I'll saiy it again (hopefully for the last freaking time)

The word Coupé is from the french word to CUT... as in cut off 2 doors from a sedan! Thus if still have 4 doors, you didn't cut anything now did you!?!

So unless the CLS is a 4-door version of some 6-door (or more) sedan... it's a freaking sedan people!

It's a shabby marketing ploy that's all... and I hate shabby marketing ploys
I mean $#!t with a pink bow on it is still $#!t.

Whatever! I call it the "Brilliant".

It's one of the coolest cars on sale today.

I absolute adore it!

Not up there, but waaaay better looking than CLS... Any of those you've mention, Mr. merc1. Let alone the beast in small package... The SLK.

Long as you think any Mercedes is good looking I'll go with that from you. I like the SLK too, small, agressive and correctly proportioned, but I hate those little add on extensions on the rear fenders of the SLK55 and lesser SLKs with the AMG package.

Well, I'm one of the currently 15 people who does not have a problem having it called a coupe. The sloping roofline makes it pretty hard to get in in the back even if there are 2 extra doors there.

Exactly... it has a coupe-like roof.. but that is not enough to constitute a coupe IMO.
I've seen the car a handful of times, and I think the CLS55 is a stunner...but the other day I saw a normal CLS..and as it drove by I thought to myself 'there is no way that could be called a coupe'.

The low and stretched roofline and the high waistline still do not make it a coupe. A CL is a coupe.. a 6er is a coupe...even a 3er coupe is more coupe-like than the CLS.

Hahahaha... if you were a wallaby (not wallabee ) you'd certainly be the smartest wallaby I know that's for sure.
Now, how I am going to get those 2 confused ? ... I may be Australian, but I sure don't have the brain size of the wallaby.
