I must say, I would be surprised if Porsche market the Panamera as a "four-door coupé" - I think they will consider it to be a sedan - Porsche is a far more black and white, down-to-earth company than Mercedes - who, far too often, get caught-up in their own image if you ask me.

BTW - on registration papers - what do the "authorities" consider the CLS to be - I bet they don't fall for the 4-door coupé thing - hehehe.

Porsche has already called it a "sports coupe", check the press release.

That poll is wierd man , it's like you are forcing us to pick sedan . So a coupe must be like a 911 ? That doesnt mean it cant be a coupe , what I want to say is that it is a luxury sports coupe , why dont you post coupe like a 6series BMW for example , or Bently GT coupe if the case is CLS55 . Pushing it against a 911 to be a coupe is just crazy for god's sake !:t-banghea

Yes I'm forcing you to pick and that's how reality is, it's either a coupe or a sedan. 911, Bentley GT or 6er they are all coupes and therefor it doesn't matter which ones we are comparing it too.:)

Hoo boy. Poor options on the poll, forcing an outcome through semantics rather than freedom of choice.

Option 3 should read It's a coupé - but quite unlike a 911

In my books, again - for pete's sake, this is so repetitive - it's a coupé. The 2 extra doors are arbitrary when viewed against all the other attributes that make up a coupé.

The high beltline, shallow DLO, cab-backwardness, sloping rear roofline and low profile all contribute to making this a 4 door coupé in exactly the same way that an RX-8 is one.

If the original definition stemming from the description of a small horse-drawn buggy still applies then where's the farkin' horse? Oh wait... here it is:

:beatdeadh

Someone beat the dickens out of it and this is the 21st century.

Sweden has a lot of immigrants, so if you go there expecting everyone to be blonde you might be in for a surprise. ;)

Good. You wouldn't believe how many people actually take the stereotypes for real. :usa7uh:

Try Holland for immigrants Mike.

In Rotterdam, 60% is not Dutch and not from western europe.

I said it before and I'll saiy it again (hopefully for the last freaking time)

The word Coupé is from the french word to CUT... as in cut off 2 doors from a sedan! Thus if still have 4 doors, you didn't cut anything now did you!?!

So unless the CLS is a 4-door version of some 6-door (or more) sedan... it's a freaking sedan people! :t-banghea

It's a shabby marketing ploy that's all... and I hate shabby marketing ploys :t-banghea
I mean $#!t with a pink bow on it is still $#!t.

i've always seen the CLS as a sedan, it has veyr little over a regular sedan to be called a coupe, it mgiht be sporty, sleek, sexy, true, but it still goes on by every definition of sedan we have

but since the 4 door coupe gimmick is now very much upon us i have come to terms with myself after much thought that i would qualify as a 4 door coupe any car that you can photoshopt the rear door lines, hinges, and handle, and keep only the window line, yet it wouldn't look bad, or odd

the CLS fails horribly this test, i tried it on PS sometime ago, the only acr til now to succeeed in this test is the AM rapide, whicg looks justa s good with the rear door lines in or out

if someoe has time edit a profile view of a CLS and a view of rapide and you''' see what i mean
