Breaking News: BMW M Director Dr. Segler confirms E82 M

Funny how sometimes a funky trim level comes along that turns BMWs typically tidy naming process into something completely absurd.

Like... "Z4" will somehow mutate into Z4 3.5ixCS M™

We gotta start taking bets on this. This could be fun.

He doesn't need to own anything to have an opinion here. It take doesn't take beyond a Internet connection to come to Internet and claim you own everything under the sun. You should know that all too well.

No you don't have to own anything to have an opinion, but it does get rather annoying to have someone question whether you like the breed when you forked out almost £60K for the pleasure to own one not a year ago. Oh and yes I did actually own one.

But just for kicks, my money is on M135/M135CSi like M535 or M635CSi (which was really a full fledged M car and even called M6 in NA).

This was my point about chosing the right name other than the obvious one of M1, the older enthusiasts will understand those names lie M135 or M135CSI as still a proper M car by the youth of the day won't have an F'ing clue.

Judging by the X6M and X5M, the name 1M is the most natural.

At least here, if you are young enough not to have a clue about cars like the 850CSi and 635CSi, you are likely not going to be able to afford the car.

That figures, question is where. The more letters and numbers outside of "1" and "M", the less the connection with the M brand. As said before, if the latest cars from M is anything to judge by, that might not be such a bad thing.

Scotty, regarding your signature - everyone should drive a MINI sometime, to get to know what driving is all about :D
