BMW "Never stand still" event

Never stand still - It's 8 days left to next event according to the webpage. Perhaps its a facelifted 3-series to be shown in 8 days.

When that has happen the counter will change again and counting down to the next event.

Time never stands still - the webpage is counting down to another event, the timer will change everytime a new event has happen.

This is what the webpage is all about - counting down to new events or new products from BMW. Its their way to tell us when something new is going to happen.

I'm not sure this is what the page is all about. But it would be cool. Nice idea.

Btw, the counter (right now) counts forwards form the 0.00 when it should have stopped ... so, to me its showing the current time. My local time. 12:33 pm

:eusa_thin

PS: yes, this site shoud remain open - as a reminder, and as a definition of word "lame". :D

BMW presented the new BMW 7 Series in a fascinating installation on the Red Square in Moscow

09.07.2008

Munich / Moscow.

With an exceptional vehicle presentation on the Red Square in Moscow (Russia) on 8 July 2008 the BMW Group started a countdown for the European launch of the new BMW 7 Series, which will happen in the autumn of this year. Under the slogan "Never stand still" the world's most successful manufacturers of automobiles in the premium segment had built an almost twelve metre high hourglass ahead of the historical background of the Basil's Cathedral and the Kremlin. With the world's largest hourglass BMW presented its new flagship to about 400 international guests and Moscow citizens.

Success as a driving force

The hourglass has been present on the Red Square since the 6th July 2008. In the top half of the construction of acrylic glass and steel the new BMW 7 Series is parked - initially hidden by more than 180,000 shiny silver balls. The ball gradually fell into the lower zone, and finally as the peak of the event on Tuesday evening, the new BMW 7 Series was fully revealed.
"With the new generation of the BMW 7 Series our success story continues, and it has lasted for more than 30 years now," said Jan-Christiaan Koenders, head of brand communication and BMW Group Marketing Services. "A goal to surpass our own achievements again and again is the essence of our brand. The BMW 7 Series reflects this idea exceptionally well," said Koenders, explaining the idea behind the event's motto "Never stand still".

The past achievements as a starting point for the better achievements in the future - this guiding principle drives the artists performing at the vehicle presentation. These included, for example, international artists such as the Ballet dancers Mark Peretokin and Ilze Liepa by the renowned Bolshoi Theater, the Star-conductor Yuri Bashmet with orchestra and the singer Adele. Despite the fact all these artists are already at the top of their fields today, they strive to develop themselves continuously.

Dynamic metropolis

"Moscow shows an exceptionally dynamic development. Also for the BMW Group, the metropolis and Russia have a special significance," says Christian Kremer, head of Russia distribution company of the BMW Group. "The Russian market plays for us an increasingly important role. Today's presentation shows the confidence of the BMW Group in the potential of the country." The carmaker is already since 1993 in the world's largest land-represented state since 1999, with its own distribution company. By the end of the year 2008, the dealer network will grow to 63 dealers in 47 cities. BMW Group is present in all major Russian cities. The economic growth of the country is also reflected in rising sales figures for the BMW Group. "Sales of the brands BMW and MINI increased for 33.4 percent in the first six months compared to the previous year. Our goal is to awake more enthusiasm for all brands of the BMW Group in Russia. Exclusive vehicle presentations, such as that one of the new BMW 7 Series in Moscow, are a key to this, "said Kremer.

Eh .... All the fuss about Russian presentation of F01/F02.

Even Bangle was there ... Explaining the ideas behind the design of new 7er ...

BMW are unsecure if the new 7er will be a saleshit. So they doing this giant mega markeeting stunt.

Ayahhhh!!!

How about a little 'internal' GCF premiere, to make up for that loss of sleep last night :t-wild: and to win back our love.....;););)

Scotty...what was really on that teaser photo of the Golf Championship ?
Was that the modified front of the V12 ? We know, its not the 'normal' F01..

^given this BS they just pulled on us
it wouldnt surprise me if that promo car is HOAX
and doesent even exist..
They just made it look cooler to hype up the normal 7er..

What's up with that kidney? Is it the V12 version? It looks bigger and is definitely different from the 7er we've seen so far....

...I love it :icondrool

It's the same size and shape, but the wider chrome round and fewer, thicker chrome vertical bars make it appear different.

Such presence

9 slats in Moscow pic, 13 on standard kidney..:t-hands:

The model shown in Moscow hourglass is 740Li. :usa7uh:
Featuring boosted I6 twin-turbo N54 (326HP).

So, it's not a V12.

740Li with a different grille......hmmmm...Is that the grille for the 'sportversion' then? The 'M-pack' for the 7er so to speak? It does look sporty!

I agree, it does look sporty. But if that's the case then i think that another front bumper would have worked better :eusa_thin
