Having owned E46 m3, c32 amg rs4, i have no perticular brand preference, well maybe BMW by a whisker, but come on guys thye M3 looks plain, and the C63 shouts " i'm gonna kill ya"

I think its a no brainer the c63 looks way better, has a more powerful engine, more torque, and by all accounts drives fantastic. today marks the reign of a new king. C63 AMG

M3 for me thanks. I'm certain that the M3 will hold my interest for longer. It's quite plain for me; the M3 simply promises more variation and involvement over the long term. The lovely clutch action, snickety manual gearbox, perfectly weighted and placed pedals, oh, and the small matter of yet another charismatic engine from BMW's M works that just happens to rev to 8400 rpm. I think that'll keep me engaged for longer than the C63 would.

It's always been this way; Merc muscle vs BMW precision - even if some folks out there reckon the M3's steering lacks feel.

The C63 is a great car - certainly strong enough to embarrass an unsuspecting (or even vigilant) M3 driver in a roll-on freeway drag - but I could care less about racing anyone in a straight line. What I want is the sense of occassion, excitement and satisfaction that I've felt in every M car that I've ever driven. I'm certain this new M3 will be no different...

As magnificently good as the C63 is, it would be my last choice in the M3, RS4, C63 battle.

Now the C63 is dull? 30 minutes ago you were saying it was overstyled. So I guess you think the E90 is overstyled then? Which one is it Just_me? :D

C63 has some parts that doesnt look good to me, overall I find the M3 E90 more attractive.

I'm not prepared to give the C63 top billing just yet, but if it turns out the C63 out performs the E90 M3 the Benz's will be one step closer to the throne! I don't know how most of you view it, but the M3 wasn't the king of this segment anyway, the B7 RS4 held that title which BMW didn't offer a competitor in this segment. The C63 will needed to take down the E90 M3 as well as the B7 RS4 before I'll even entertain the notion that it could topple the late bloomer B8 RS4!:D

The transmission in the C63 might be a limitation in drivers involvement. As for precision and thrills it's difficult to tell.

Both the C63 and the M3(coupe) has received to reviews. Only head to head comparisons will tell us if M3 no longer is the default choice for performance horny youngsters.

The myth is going to die, I doubt that the C-class AMG is still only good enough for drag races on the autobahn.

Lack of a real transmission precludes C63 from being my choice in this segment. While the engine in the C63 is a gem, I hate the fact that some marketing dude gets to detune it - kinda lacks technical integrity and that is reflected in the design too - too many non functional design cues - like the bumps in the hood - where as the one in the M3 is actually functional, the ones in the C63 is just cosmetic. The C63 looks shockingly good at first and then you realize once you move past the (very) crowded front bumper, it is sought of lacking.

I of course reserve the right to change my mind after the first proper comparison test. And some ring times.

The RS4 was $18 grand more expensive than E46 M3 or C55. It was not in the same segment - unless of course you want to bring the CSL in :D

Well both the RS4, M3 and even the 911 Turbo are lacking if you remove the front bumper. With these high performance cars the bumper is always the high light.

So what if C63 has cosmetic design elements. The M3 has it too like the fake air vent on the hood, the same goes for the bulge on the hood. Does it bother me? Not at all as long as it looks good. Design doesn't always have to be functional.

Crappy interior by both, crappy rear by both.

Front - M3 wins.
Side - C63 wins.

Overall - M3 for me.

:t-cheers:

He finally agrees with me that the bmw M interiors are not special enough :t-cheers:

I voted C63 because I think it looks nicer. Another bad mark on BMW interiors from me though. Have you seen the speakers in the M3's doors? They look like cheap aftermarket crap :t-crazy2:

Maybe in america but in my country the RS4 was only 5 grand more expensive. Well worth it for a extra 80hp and more excusivety.

No the air vent on the hood is not fake - the right one (or the left one if you are inside the car) is actually functional - it is one of the 3 air intakes for the engine. The other one is of course there for symmetry.

Yeah definitely. Sucks that it was so expensive here.

I'm not talking about price, I'm talking about coupes vs. sedans! BMW hasn't offered a sedan in this segment to compete against the RS4 or C55. Most were content comparing the E46 M3 against them for lack of a true rival imho. :)

Yeah it sucked that there was no E46 M3 sedan and I am glad it is back. :)

BMW offered a 4-door for M3 E36. That was the time when neither a RS4 or a C55 existed ;)

in my country the difference between M3 E46 and RS4 was 160.000 swedish kr , about 15.000 euro and that is a lot.

But C36 and C43 did. And S4's were actually good and could compete with the M3 - pity they watered it down. But yeah E36 M3 was better than the competition :)
