JLR is already a direct competitor of BMW, before anyone else buys it

Correct, I understand and calculate that this possibility should already be covered in the very armored contracts signed between BMW and JLR, or rather signed between BMW and TATA, which for the case TATA would be the same as Geely and neither would know what to do with so much technology

But what will happen if/when JLR is bought from a competitor of BMW? How will they prevent valuable technical information to not flow to the competitor?

What information would be revealed that isn't already during a thorough teardown of competitors models?

Further to my post above...

I took this photo a block over from the FIZ in munich... a Maybach being delivered to a BMW Facility.

... and to add to this, I remember my father telling me the story of Rolls-Royce & Bentley Motor Cars benchmarking a VW Golf, and dismantling the grab handles to see how the damped movement worked because it was better than what they had.

The moral is, once a car is on the market, it really doesn't hold any secrets.
