This is cool, just taken no far away from where my parents live. I have driven a lot on that bridge in the background. This is in Sweden:eusa_danc

Cool that they chose to photograph this car in Sweden:)

I go here quite often. If only I could've timed my visits a bit better maybe I could've seen the car:eusa_danc

Try scrolling the page up and down, the tower really gives a screwing sensation:D

The car offers 700 km of autonomy, 500 in hydrogene mode and 200 in classic mode.

It's other way: 200km in hydrogen mode, 500km in gasoline.

The cruising range of the car in the hydrogen mode is more than 200 kilometres, with another 500 kilometres in the gasoline mode. The dual-mode drive concept of BMW Hydrogen 7 requires not only suitable engine management and fuel supply, but also proper integration of two separate fuel tanks: To offer the longest conceivable cruising range, BMW Hydrogen 7 comes with both a conventional 74-litre gasoline tank and an additional fuel tank taking up approximately 8 kilos of liquid hydrogen.

Yeah, Google translation is really crap, Eni does the engine offers 445hp in gasoline mode ?

No, it's 260HP in both modes.

But mind this is the first atempt of hydrogen production car ...

Also the car will be made in limited edition and leased to selected users ... Like I said: it will be more of a technological statement & a research car.

Let's hope this is the beginning of a new age!

Now Hydrogen manufacturers have to work on a more efficient way to create/store that hydrogen. I know big strides have been made in the past few years, but all the processes are still not very efficient.

That's too bad... the prototypes with the 4.4 V8 pretty much maintained their normal power with petrol... they only dropped when combustions was powered by H. I guess that wasn’t working well enough for production.

This is sure a step in the right direction for BMW!

Wonder if in the future this will take over from the that crappy Pruis as the celebs favouite car!

I know it's not very powerful, but this is the start of something new, think how unpowerful petrol engines were when they first came out!

I now know where BMW got the idea from. This photo is taken one year ago by M5board.com. Same bridge, different angle

BMW stealing ideas :D

I thought there was a picture of the M6 when it was unveiled in red under that bridge, or was it another one?

Damn so BMW actually pulled it off. I say a documentary about this car 2-3 years ago and now it is here. This is a big step in the automotive world, tough OPEC is probably the only organisation aggrevated by this news.:D
I hope the car won't be too expensive. I also wonder what would happen if you pour coffee into the fuel tank.
