Then why would it be based on the ICE 7-er instead of the i7? A B7, 'B7e', 'iB7', would be based on the closest platform available, surely? Alpina indicated a Hybrid powertrain was in the works a couple of years ago, but with the brand purchase by BMW, and the announcement that all current Alpina vehicle programs would stop, and the fact cars like the Alpina i8 didn't come to fruition on technical grounds, I'd find it tough to believe even a hybrid B7 is in the works - it's difficult to achieve, it's already a niche, and the market window is small. Maybe I'm wrong, I hope I'm wrong... prove me wrong.
