BMW Concept 1er tii "1ntensified Performance Orientation"

Remember BMw 2002 turbo? This is the next 2002 Turbo. Is it going to be a 4-cylinder Turbo or a 6-cylinder Turbo? Im 100% its a turbo engine.
The speedo and the rev look like it comes from 135i (280km/h/7000rpm)

BTW This time Scott didnt f*** with us. This thread clearly show us that he is in the busniess :usa7uh:

Kudos to Scott for being nice this time :eusa_clap

Re: BMW 1er Tii Concept Picture Thread

Re: BMW 1er Tii Concept Picture Thread

For weight saving goals,IMO 4-cylinder would be better choice..Power figure around 300 HP with 400-420 Nm of torque sounds right to me with acc from 0 to 100 km/h under 5 secs:usa7uh:

Autocar take on this car

Is this the much discussed, but as yet unbuilt, successor to the original M3? BMW isn’t saying if it will make this lighter, lower version of the 1-series coupé, but it’s likely that something very similar will go into limited production next year.

Named after the classic and highly desirable 2002 tii, the Concept 1-series tii is a motorsport-influenced, carbonfibre-rich two-door with a bespoke aerodynamic kit and a modified interior.

The tii’s front and rear bumpers are new, along with the sill covers and bootlid, to improve the car’s aerodynamics. On the bootlid, a Gurney flap — a thin carbonfibre blade — increases downforce over the back axle. There are even fins on each side of the carbonfibre bonnet to improve airflow over the front of the car.

As a result, BMW claims the tii is lighter and better-balanced than a standard 1-series coupé. It’s also lower (by 23mm) and slightly longer.

Inside, the tii gets a severe-looking set of race seats, plenty of black Alcantara and contrasting white-painted trim on the dash, doors and steering wheel. The white-faced rev counter gets an oil temperature gauge.

BMW won’t confirm the engine, but it’s likely to be a version of the 2005 320si’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit. And BMW has indicated it will have a turbo; the reversed tii logo on the bumper is a subtle nod to the original 2002 Turbo, which had ‘turbo’ written in reverse lettering in the same place.

Although the 320si wasn’t particularly quick or powerful — 173bhp and 0-60mph in 8.1sec — its 7000rpm peak power delivery had something of the original M3’s engine, and its quick responses were well-received. In a lighter 1-series, with the tii’s efficient aerodynamics, performance could be much improved, especially with a turbo.

Don’t expect the production car to be called M1 or tii, however. The most likely name for this 1-series is CS; BMW has always applied it to lighter, faster models.

Re: BMW 1er Tii Concept Picture Thread

lol i thought some tuner made this car..
but i guess its a BMW concept..
cant say that i love the fast and furious look of it..
maybe it would look better in one solid colour

I haven't been this excited about a car from bmw in a very long time. When the new M3 was relesed I was like "Oh, ok, this is it then" but I didnt feel emotional or moved like I'm with this "Tii concept". I adore this new car and its my favorite bimmer at the moment.

M3 is a good looking car and damn fine but its fat and oversized and not as driver focused as it use to be. Now finally bmw are back on track and this is reason why I started love bmw in first place.
We dont know engine or weight spec yet but when you read the pressrelese you clearly understand its back to the old roots; less weight and more driver focused.

1er tii is what the new M3 should be and its the old bmw 2002 Turbo in a new disguise. I want mine in white with two blue strips in two different tones and one red stripe, just like those old performance cars from BMW.

:worshbmw:

I'm so happy now.

PS those who speak swedish should read this, explanation why the car look like it does (about the exterior details)

1-er Tii Concept is not what new M3 should be..it´s what M3 was in E30 series..And that is definition of drivers car..small,light..powerfull..a joy machine..New M3 is phenomenal,it has lots of power and grunt but at the same it lost some of original M heritage IMO..1-er in this version is revival of old good ways for M cars in general..:usa7uh:

Re: BMW 1er Tii Concept Picture Thread

The black hood is inspired from racing cars from the 60's and 70's, those two black high lists on the hood comes from BMW racing car from the 70's (3.5 CSL) and its for aero dynamics. The "speed" stripes are also inspired from the old times.
Engine hood, sidemirrors and rearspoiler is some of the things made of carbon fibre.
This is the coolest car from bmw in many years and its number one on my bmw wishlist.

it would be very cool but it sounds expensive. Nah, the kit belong to the original car where its actually has a purpose. :) If I won the lottery today I know what I would order and its not the M3 ;)

Re: BMW 1er Tii Concept Picture Thread

yeah,I see your meaning..it would probably cost alot of money
Damn..:D

Re: BMW 1er Tii Concept Picture Thread

Didn't like the looks of the car since the moment I saw it few months ago. mainly because of the carbon hood - too ricy!
rear is hot though..

I'm reading various boards about people opinions on this car and I get the feeling that the first impressions seem to be more positive than the new M3 got when it was introduced. People like what they see and they want bmw to built it.
BMW would be stupid if they decide not to.

A car like this has been missed too long. Build the car for the true enthusiasts.
