8 Series (G15) BMW 8er coupe picture thread (G14): THE 8

The second-generation of the BMW 8 Series consists of the G14 (convertible version), G15 (two-door coupe version) grand tourers, and G16 (four-door "Gran Coupe" sedan version) executive cars (E). The G14/G15/G16 generation has been in production since 2018, and is often collectively referred to as the G15. It replaced the F06/F12/F13 6 Series lineup. Production: 2018-

Encountered last night; the new BMW 8er Coupe in 840d (Diesel) trim.

Diesel is not a trim obviously. It's the M sport trim. The other trim seems to be the optional (and maybe more beautiful) one.

So what did you think of it on the road like that? Special enough?

How does it look in person!!
Better than in pictures. Maybe from two angles it's not perfect to me when you look at it. But otherwise very attractive coupe. And this color I am not so sure about it. To me from the other photos I saw, I would say that it looks the best in black, maybe with red interior. But that's just my opinion.

Another 840d with M Packet.
Let's see the 840d without M Packet for once. The one that is close to the concepts form.

As far as I could tell whilst playing with the configurator, pretty much every option that you might want on the car ends up including the M-sport kit.

I'm most keen to see which basis Alpina use for the B8 (There'd better be a frikkin' B8)... as the standard 'chin' adorned with typical Alpina "aero" devices could smash the M8 and M850i for looks.

Was that on the UK website or the German one? BMW UK tend to include a LOT more kit as standard and in packages, whereas BMW Germany tend to offer models with a more basic set up, and with a lot more flexibility to create your own bespoke example.

For example, the M4 comes with part cloth seats as standard in Germany?!

There is to be a B8 but I wonder if it's is being held back until the Gran Coupe launches?
The Alpina I am most interested in is the X7 D7.

German if I recall correctly. I've just quickly gone on to the UK configurator and it's not possible to remove the M Sport package on any 8 series.

Oh yes. Perhaps with an output in excess of 650 PS ? Sans the signature flank pinstriping, of course. That shit hurts my eyes. And please, please revive that gorgeous 21" rim design (smoother rim-lip, lockable hub cover) featured on the F01 B7.

Iron fist in a silk glove.

Alpina without stripes is like ... like...

... umm..

... something that's really really wrong, man.
