I have given this thread an universal title because I think it could be senseful to post comparison pics in one thread instead to open a new thread for every new picture comparison.
What's your opinion, especially of your mods?
@mods: feel free to change the thread title if you say it's not senseful to have only one thread.
:)

The Audi A8 exterior looks a tad dated here, but can't say the same for the interior though, still looks very good.

It's interesting how similar the taillights on the 7-Series and the A8 are.

Aside from he wrap-around segment, the 7-Series taillight is essentially an inverted A8 taillight.

To be honest the A8 still looks very fresh in an understated sort of way. Add to that, absolutely brilliant light graphics and it makes the S-class look very plebian in comparison. I had an opportunity recently to see both these cars at night driving side by side and was blown away by the level of detail on the A8 light graphics. The S-class light graphics are very similar to the pre-facelift A8; not something I would expect from the perceived leader of the segment

The Audi's greenhouse looks really dated to me. Having an extra D pillar doesn't help at all, and is rather ugly.

A, B and C is enough on a sedan, ok?

Not really, the Audi is angular and the BMW is organic. That with the inverted part (pretty major LOL), makes all the difference.

I think the opposite in fact, this could have perfectly been posted in the existing thread. Because now we end up with a lot of tiny threads with little discussion while about about more or less the same subject. Hard to follow conversations this way, and hard to see what has or has not been posted.

The 7-Series looks best with out the M Pack which is a shocking change. The A8 looks like the large FWD car it is, but the interior is the saving grace. S-Class looks good either way. MB and BMW crush Audi here for me.

M

The A8's exterior was bad since day one, interior wise the central console and front dash looks dated although finish is still impressive, the back is fine imo. Overall the others two are clearly a generation ahead.

The BMW and Mercedes are more attractive and modern looking than the Audi which is seriously looking dated in both exterior (most boring and plain looking) and interior (nice seats and centre console and door panels but out of date looking instruments and info screen). In my eyes the previous generation A8 was a much more attractive car than this generation.

@klier - the Audi's roofline and glasshouse shape are its best feature imo. Gorgeous. The A8's problem is that despite a sleek silhouette its proportions and styling elements conspire to make it look dumpy. In pictures and on the road.

Of course.

Those are the trademark styles of the two: BMW is more fluid and organic, while Audi is more streamline and minimalist.

I was referring to the outline, sans wrap-around.

I agree on the Audi exterior looking dated, the interior is classy but I think that looks a tad dated in comparison as well (i.e. still too many buttons, no full-TFT for the meter cluster and etc)

How did you you get Klier's post in to mine? Was already wondering if I'd sent drunk messages here that I couldn't remember of :D

No, the S class needs the AMG pack and the 7er looks good either way.

I'm totally agree. Maybe my post was not articulate adequate.
I had deliberate what I shall do with this pic comparison:
- to post it in the existing thread 7/S like you have said it
- create a new thread with only the pictured cars in title
- create a new thread like I have done it

I feared anybody could criticize the first possibilty and would say I would have to open a new thread.

Therefore the second possibility were choosen on my part at first.

Then I changed the title and added the text with the thought that mods could merge both threads if they would say also one single thread would enough.
And I think I had shall write this last sentence already at the beginning of the thread to make clearer my thought behind my decision.

I have said it in an earlier post in an other thread for me there are to many threads with 5 or less replies although it would be possible to post the contain in an other existing thread.
Especially referred to posted videos.
Or another example: Bugatti. There are 174 threads, the most referred to the Veyron. Much of them with maximum 5 replies. For all news were opend a new thread.
But what is absent: an "official" Veyron thread.

For me less (threads) would be more. But this are only my 50 cents. :)

IMO, S-Class is the most balance car. My choice, the more compare photos i looked at it, the more I love the S-Class.
