Hahaha, omg!!!
I'm not mad, I just thought we were past the trolling and stuff...

Seriously, bring the touring to the U.S fast. GT is nice to compliment the 5er line, not to replace a model.

Lol...I'm just messing with you Klier. BTW..I do like the 5GT.

I like it for what it is, but I'd much rather see small 1er coupe like cars. Z2, or Z4 coupe. Something like that.

Well you and I both know it's not going anywhere, as you're in Europe too, and that thing is popular over here.

^No clue..haven't seen the numbers..but there are a few on the streets of Gothenburg..

Hell yes..this is X mas come early..
I hate that thing with a passion..i want it to be discontinued ASAP

It's not really a good Xmas present.

Because the car is still selling well across Europe and Asia , it is also proving popular in emerging markets for luxury cars.
BMW are still meeting their projections of over 20,000 units per it's first year.

What people seem to forget is that the 5er GT is not a high volume product like the 5er. BMW only expects around 10% of GT's to be sold alongside the greater numbers of 5er Sedan and Touring.

I would have a GT because it's the interior which is it's main selling point. But I have Dogs (now three) so the GT is impractical for animal lovers unless I leave the huskies and take the west highland terrier.

BMW guys, don't take us MB boys too seriously. This thread is just slight redemption because when the 5-er GT came out we heard endlessly how it was so different in concept to the R-class and how it was the best thing since sliced bread etc. etc.

The truth is MB missed the mark big time with the R. BMW thought it was infinitely smarter, started to believe its own marketing BS and went ahead with the 5GT. Seriously who wants to spend 7-series money for something this ugly. At least the R is relatively cheap.

I imagine that good-selling car in this segment should have 3 qualities: relatively good-looking, practical and reasonable price tag.

Both R-class and 5gt failed in 2 of the 3. At least MB did a good job with restyling, but i guess that's not enought for them to consider a new generation

Not surprised at all. I have not even seen one on the road, yet.

The X5 M and X6 M are big failures in sales as well.

It would take a few more grandiose model failures for BMW to get a wake up call and re-think their direction.

Anyone who couldn't see this coming was straight up blind or biased. We Americans don't always have the best choice, but sometimes we do make the right decision...like this pile of dung.

if I was working at BMW, I probably would've been one of the opponents of this car. I won't lie, I'd rather take a ZDX over this.

x5/x6 m are doing great, thats why bmw is considering x3 m and stuff

I wouldn't say the X6 M and X5 M are sales flops, they're very costly like 90K, you can't expect them to just sell like 328i and 535i's. I see them far more than I do the 5GT, that has to mean something.

Yep. So far I've seen a one 5er GT and two X5M.

:t-cheers:

Now my comment may come as no surprise because I am the latest to purchase an X6 M in SA, though the fact is that both the X5 M and X6 M outsell the 5 GT by far here;)
