Agree with everything except the positioning of the Superb, which is a BMW 3er competitor (and I have chosen it over a 320d touring three years ago).

Size wise, the Superb is positioned pretty much in between the 3er and 5er.

The exact competitor is the Chinese long version of the 3er. The Superb is in no way near to the experience in the class of the 5er/A6/E class. Everything is a class below, but the room. In many ways it also feels a class below the 3er.

The front is very strong.
Rear 3/4 angle is unflattering because of the tall and boxy rear.
I like the lack of wheel arch intrusion in the boot.

Yeah, BMW’s FWD designs are truly unattractive. It’s a shame, as the X1 is designed perfectly IMO.

Yeah because SUV cars simply don't suffer from the FWD syndrome due the proportions. SUV models are the only ones mind you, all the other types of cars look poor with FWD

The back of the 2 series is really huge/flat...

It would be cheap and ugly on a Opel or Hyundai. Never mind a premium BMW.
It's so extremely messed up I don't know where to start.....I actually think the rear is even worse than the FWD proportions, which is saying an aweful lot.

I cannot help but chime in with "The Critics' Chorus". The exterior design of the 2 series Gran Coupe is utterly mishapen. Suzuki Aerio bad. I am in disbelief that the car was approved by BMWs' powers-that-be. The sharp interior is of little, if any, consolation.
