BMW 1er Bi-Xenons

I have few questions about the 1er's xenons...and since I have searched all over the forum and couldn't find some topic refering to such subject...I am opening this one.

First of all...how can we find out the Kelvin temperature of the 1er's stock bi-xenons?

On my Alfa 147 I have 8,000Kelvin (K) xenons...and on my brother's GTC his stock xenons are whiter and therefore significantly less Kelvin...and having a result of lower visibility compared to my 8000K.

So...can the owners of the stock BMW 1er bi-xenons tell me if they are blue-ish or just plain white...or where can I find such information?

The second question I have...is if you signal the high-beam...with your lights on...do the xenons move up and then down...making a "flash-like" effect...or do halogen lights come on instead and no xenons? :eusa_thin

Thank you very much!

Hi Niko

Our friend TycoonGTR has a 5 series with bi-xenon lights (as i remember) perhaps he can help you.

The other member that can help you is Matt cause his father has a BMW dealership.

:t-cheers:

I seem to remember that most BMWs have either 6,000 or 6,500 bulbs.

Could be wrong though.

and judging by the pictures it looks like the highbeams are xenon as well, hence bixenon.
again I could be wrong.

Thank you guys!!!

Gianni a useful input by these individuals you are refering to would be useful...but does the 1er have the same xenons as the 5er?

I will send them a message to see your post but they might not be around these days due to vacations.:D
I don't know if 5 series and 1 series have the same type of xenon lights but it's possible.

Thank you very much my friend!

I also believe it is possible due to cost cutting reasons. I don't see a point in putting different xenons from the 1er to the M6...since I believe it would cost BMW more money to purchase 3 or 4 different type of xenons for each car.

I wouldn't know how much for a 1-series, and \i don't think theya re the same as the adaptive bi-xenons I have in the 6er...

Niko, you could e-mail BMW for your question! i think they would answer you!

That is a good idea...but I was hoping I would get better input on the matter from individuals in here that drive their 1er's every day. :t-cheers:
