At 219-inches in length, and with a wheelbase of 75.8-inches, few would consider the Bentley Mulsanne as lacking in size.

However, as hard as it is to believe, numerous clients have requested that Bentley build a bigger version.

Speaking with Autocar, Bentley boss Wolfgang Durheimer revealed that requests for a longer wheelbase Mulsanne come in all the time.

“We are evaluating it, but I have no doubt we could also sell that type of car in the U.S. and China,” he said.

He also said that convertible and coupe versions of the Mulsanne, designed to go head-to-head with the respective Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe and Phantom Coupe, were also being considered.

As for the possibility of a diesel Mulsanne, Durheimer has revealed to What Car? that diesels, as well as hybrids, were a priority for Bentley.

He went onto reveal that Bentley could use a Volkswagen Group 4.0-liter V-8 turbodiesel engine for the Mulsanne, although engineers are also considering a six-cylinder unit.

While you wait for Bentley to finalize plans for a diesel or long-wheelbase Mulsanne, Russian firm ArmorTech can build you one today that adds an additional 45-inches to the Mulsanne’s already long wheelbase.
