[autozeitung] supercar test

Huh? What the hell is this all about? Of course people care about practicability on Supercars.

At least I do.

I want a supercar which I'm able to fit my 6'1 body and then sit in and enjoy the driving experience, without breaking my back or dying poisoned by the gases produced by the engine and being deafen by the exhaust.

I want a supercar which I can park it, without having to sit on the door sills with the doors wide open while the passing byers look at me with my posh machine and give me that look of "What a tosser!"

I want a supercar that works at least 50% of the time. And not a garage ornament that in the brief moment everything works, it only manages a few yards of speed, then goes dry and breaks down again.

I most definitely don't want a supercar that goes airbone at high speeds.

Not sure about you, but I honestly believe there are BAD supercars out there. The good thing, however, is there aren't many. I can name a few, though.
I agree with you on the reliability part. But when it comes to practicality, I'm sure you will have other cars that do a better job at that. In terms of size, well there's not much you can do. These supercars are already big as it is (on the outside).

I think a supercar needs to be reliable. it doesnt have to be a civic but it cant be a headache either. as for practicality, it depends on what the owner is looking for in the car. if its just a weekend car then it doesnt have to be very practical but if you are looking to use it as a daily driver, then you would still want some practicality, no? but then in the case of some designs (mainly midengine design such as murcielagos or gallardos or zondas) the practicality will have to be sacrificed in order to give the car a Countach-wedge shape.

either way, LP640 rocks!

For me supercars are for the track or a quick flatout on an unrestricted autobahn.

Since they should be the closest thing to race cars, it's just normal that they will break after while od stressing. And if they won't scare you death at least from time to time they're not real supercars.

Practicability is for something like an M5, a Turbo, not an Enzo or Zonda F or the Ford GT.
