DAMN!! I didn't know that. I figured it was around 4.3 or so! I still believe the R8 underpowered and all will at least match the Z06 on the Burg.

If you are asking about the article in Autozeitung I'm sorry to say that there was no track times and no acctual comparison between the cars. I bought the magazine last week...very uninteresting article.

am I the only ones that doesnt believe the Z06 can do 0-60 in 3.4 seconds? Its been only the american testers who have pulled it off. I mean, thats faster than a Carrera GT, Zonda F and the AWD Murcielago . seems suspicious in my opinion.

Yeah the R8 really isn't in the Z06's league at all...

the CGT got 0-60 in 3.4 but that was during the summer in Ford's test track. they pointed out that the track surface had a higher than normal grip level. so under perfect conditions the CGT can get 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. the Murcielago's best is 3.5 (lp640 is 3.2) and the Zonda F has never been tested to 0-60 only 0-100 km/h by SportAuto and it did it in something like 3.7 or 3.8. Its hard for me to believe such as 0-60 time for the Z06 on stock tires. 0-100 in 7.9 seconds has been recorded for the Z06, but thats beleive able compared to its rivals (Gallardo: 8.4, F430: 8.2, 911TT: 8)

The Z06 would eat it for lunch. I love the R8 but the comparisons have been all wrong so far. It needs to be compared to a C4S, not just a C4. Putting it up against an M6 might be interesting as well, but comparing it with gallardos, F-430s and Z06s is rediculous. Make the RIGHT comparison mags!

Well it does vary, that 3.4 figure was from Car and Driver, notorious for their fast 0-60 times. However the Z06 has never been tested any slower than 3.7 secs, from what I've seen. Either way the R8 can't compete.

Can't compete in which area? In a straight line or on the track, or are you talking about in all things?

i would assume all areas since the audi is very underpowered compared to the vette along with other things.

I'd say in most areas, the Z06 is a monster. Especially in the hands of a skilled driver. The R8 is like a 911, more precise than the Z06, but the Z06 just hammers its ways to the top.

Its a unfair test really. One car is really rather luxurious and elegant whilst the other is far from from it and rather brash.

take in to consideration that the R8's main competitor is not a 505hp Z06 let alone a 600+hp Corvette...Also the R8 is far more elegant and usable everyday than the Z06.
