Anyone in Germany who can tell us someting about this AutoZeitung test between "the three big Germans"? The headline for the test is "Close run". :)

its a crappy shot on that bimmer and the colour is bloody unattractive as well.
I think A4 won the comparison and 330i on second place.

Just checked their website and some German car forums for info on this: nothing.

Autozeitung is not sold in any magazine / book downtown Mühldorf but only at the trainstation. I might head up there and have a look at it and perhaps secretly photograph the review without getting caught (hopefully). :D

Don't who won but i would take the Bimmer straight, the engine under its bonnet is for me one of the finest engines in the world.

mercs engine is prehistoric.....gimme a 335i.....best in class at the moment imo.....wich shud hav been tested here...

I'd put my money on that the A4 comes out on top. Probably has the best engine as well, I love VAGs engine program.

The A4 won this test.
And it sure has the best front imo. The 3er needs a facelift... It looks old next to it's much fresher german fellows.

I would say that with the M-sport the 3-series is still on top but like this, whithout, it's no fun at all... great timing by BMW with FL for the 3-series.

I doubt that engine part. The 3.2 FSI is a great engine but even though it's 0,2 liters bigger it produces 7 hp less power and the average consumption to the EU standard is 1,2 liters higher than comparable BMW model (330xi, as the 3.2 FSI has quattro standard). And that's before we take the engine characteristics into consideration. This is a quote from Motor Trend's editor-in-chief Angus McKenzie (posted yesterday):

I know most automakers like V-6s because they’re a more compact package than an inline six, but I’ve yet to drive one that truly overcomes the noise, vibration and harshness issues inherent in the vee configuration. (Memo BMW: Never, ever build a V-6.)

Am I the only one who thinks that the LED light design, that swoopy curve, ruin the front styling of the Audi. I have sen the car in person and I did not like it all. Look very tacky for a luxury vehicle. It actually reminded me of something nissan or say Cadillac would do make there cars 'seem' more special.

They ruin the headlight and front end styling of this great looking vehicle to me. The 3 Series still looks great in person especially with the M Pack. Is does, however, need a facelift to keep up with the pack.

I don't think any of these vehicles are a great design. They all pass and look ok doing so but not one is a stand design or a future classic...

No, you are not the only one. I have said it from the beginning, that they look like som cheap IKEA christmas lighs.
I'd rather have the A5/S5 design. They look amazing!

Very true, my friend! :usa7uh:

I took a quick look today.

Winner: A4
1. Audi
2. BMW
3. MB

330i had the fastest laptime, highest slalom speed and was the fastest car up to 180 km/h.

Also german Automotorsport compared bmw 325i Touring against C-class Wagon and the bimmer won this comparison.
Seem to me that the new C-class have hard time winning car comparisons in the media.
