you get a 120d for less money, 177hp/350nm. Easy to chip as well and still less cash than a 123d.

Bye bye BMW warranty. If they find the car chipped, ALL warranties will vaporise.
And besides, when they put a chipped BMW on a service machine at the dealership when the car is being checked up for whatever reason, the computer will restore everything to the original BMW values, so the chip becomes useless.
Im going wild and claim that Golf 1.4 TDi (170hp, turbo/supercharger) is a better buy than GTI.
?Didn´t you meant 1.4 petrol turbo/supercharged?1.4 TDi?Didn´t you meant 1.4 petrol turbo/supercharged?
It's TSI, turbocharged-supercharged-injection.
This was first used in the Lancia Delta S4 Group B rally car, and had a power output of ~440 hp default and could go to over 600 hp if necessary.
I wonder if you'd chip the TSI.![]()
.You smartass I meant the petrol version.
Twin charging has almost unlimited potential,I agree..![]()
That Lancia turned rally world upside down,as I recall..and Ford RS 200 also..These monsters were reason to shut down group B,I think.
Many many many people modify their cars today. I would too if I had a turbo engine. Let a tuner with good reputation do it and that something would go seriosly wrong is slim. It all depends on how much you modify the engine.
To name one, Kellener is a good and well-known BMW tuner.
Aftermarket tuning of turbocharged cars is only for hard-core street dicers in my opinion. Wanna win that traffic light drag, sure man, boost your STI to the moon but be prepared to fork out the necessary dosh when you pop a con-rod through the block. We see it all the time... fiddle fiddle faf with the ECU settings; turn the boost up and pour more fuel in. And then - bang.My next car will most likely have the I6 3.0 TT engine, and I went to the dealership to inform myself about tuning it etc.....they weren't happy at all to keep it short. All warranties will be lost when something breaks etc. etc.
Now I am confused and scared. A little help would a very welcome.
