Vs Auto Motor Und Sport: Audi R8 vs Ferrari F430

Absolutely! Who cares for F430... I don't!

:t-cheers:

LOL, you've got to be kidding me Tycoon. You're so biased against Ferrari it's not even funny.

The F430 is better than the R8 in every possible way, but the looks in particular. The R8 looks just plain hideous next to the F430, one of the best cars ever made on this planet.

Hold on, I am not even halfway through translating the Toyota Yaris review!

j/k

LOL, that's classic Wimmer. Good one :t-rot: :t-rot:
I was thinking 'what the hell' before I read your 'j/k' :eusa_danc

how can anybody choose an AUdi over a ferrari?
and i still find it hard to gulp even the remotest possibility of an R8 handling beter than a ferrari (any one)

even worse is the price difference, i would imagine a steeper level of difference
bad bad

In the article they mention that the R8 handles better becuase they drove faster in a sharp courve with the R8 than the F430, baised on that they say R8 handles better
AMS didnt even meassure any times or tried slalom or driving around a track, all they talk about is what they "felt". I demand a deeper and more detailed review. This is no good for me and I dont even want to call it a comparison. All I see is talking and mention stuff the factory told them about.

AMS can do a lot better than this :eusa_snoo

When AMS are doing detailed and proper reviews they call it "Vergleichstest", now they just call it "impressions" = not a real test, just a test baised on feelings.

Looks have to do with taste, I think the 430 looks
dated even with the updates to the body, buts that
IMO!

Also how can you make a statement like " THE F430 IS BETTER THAN THE R8 IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY" with out evidence! Maybe your the 1 who's bias!:t-crazy2:

I just now noticed, the R8's engine is slightly offset toward the driver side. Oh well. I'm quite confident we'll be one of the first dealers in the country to get one but sadly I'm not certified to work on it yet. :crying6cc

Amen. I want a phat German sportscar with amazing design and superb quality, and not an Italian penis enlarger :)

Haha! That's a good one!

klier, there ARE Ferraris that i like and i've said it several times! And yes, i honestly don't give a damn for F430, don't like it, think it's ugly and like the R8 thousand times more! Sorry, man...

:t-cheers:

I'd go with the Ferrari. More power, lighter, Ferrari, looks, Ferrari, RWD, Ferrari. I can't believe that car that is heavier and has less power will be any more fun or have a handling edge over the other.

Someone just said they weren't even allowed to drive the car, so how can anyone make a judgement call saying that the R8 has a "handling" edge when its at a disadvantage.

Nice article though :usa7uh:

In Finland BMW is the official penis enlarger or should I say penis extension. 3-series E36 coupe with a fake M-badge... Mmmm....

Regardless of how great a car the R8 supposedly is...

Isn't the R8 a little over-hyped? I mean really, to me it's quite clear, the R8 is missing a vital ingredient: charisma.

I've seen the R8 in tin, aluminium and carbon-fibre and it left me numb. A mid-engined supercar shouldn't do that. Look, don't flame me for this, I'm not anti any one of the German brands (except, ahem, Opel) but I just don't get the fuss over this R8.

Audi have never had exotica genes in their DNA and it shows vividly in the R8. It's one thing to pull off a Q-car monster like the RS4, which I might add Audi does admirably, but to pull off a convincing supercar from out of the ether? Not so easy. Somehow I think BMW realise this despite having a more exotic platform from which to build upon and that's why they're approaching the supercar theme more pragmatically.

If I had the money - I'd stretch it to an F430.

Thanks you Martin. I thought I was the only one here at GCF who isn't thrilled by the uber Audi sports mobile. I though the concept car was cool but the production car gives me a bland feeling. The R8 is a conpetent sports car but is a failure in the world of super cars.
It is like one of those really futuristic looking bookshelf stereos from a no name manufacuterer. The have attractive looks and offers moderate functionality and sound quality. They are hot for a couple of months until a new product hits the store.
Some how I feel like Audi has wasted billions on oof dollars on the R8 project for nothing. A midengined sports car should not just be good, it should be fantastic and the R8 has failed on that part. I really don't expect the R8 to any awards next year.
