Hot! Audi: What's Next?

Put the four rings on it, and it's golden.

The A6 etron Avant and Sportback simply look stale in comparision. Actually, so do the C9 A6 Avant and sedan.

We should be seeing the first teasers of Audi's IAA Mobility concept vehicle within the next few days. It will reportedly introduce a brand new era of Audi design in which many of it's sheetmetal sculpturing elements will be presented on future serial production vehicles. Personally, I am apprehensive as Audi has disappointed quite a bit more recently. Still very curious, though.

I hope we see the RS 5 Avant as well.

Looking forward to it's specs. Estimating 4,850lb curb weight, 600ps combined 2.9tt PHEV

I'm not sure if I believe this or not.

Multiple publications released NEW RS 6 e-Tron Avant spy shots on the same day this article came out.

Not all that surprising really. Audi's board of directors appear dead serious and absolutely committed about thoroughly refurbishing the brand. That could mean the axing of vehicles developed in a troublesome era for Audi. My take is that Audi is banking BIG on the upcoming SSP architecture, which will be offered in BEV as well as REEV configurations (similar to the Scout strategy). I think that the A6 etron in general may have a far shorter model cycle than initially planned.

Euro 7 is a cheap excuse.
On Wikipedia it’s clearly written, that there’s no difference between the current 6e and 7.

Euro 7 has been watered down thankfully.

Euro 7 isn't their excuse. Their excuse is "lack of demand" which I think is BS

Could it be that Audi AG decision-makers are simply focusing on longer term strategies ? Focused towards a "longer term" that will very possibly not be favorable for ICE (incl. ICE/PHEV) powertrains ? While the U.S. in general is a "slower adapter" to BEVs and Tesla is falling out of favor with a large segment of the U.S.'s affluent coastal, "progressive liberal skewed" demographic, could it be that German manufacturers perceive this as being THE opportunity to cement their mid-to-longer term presence in that portion of the U.S. market that can actually embrace and afford their BEV/REEV products ? Tapping into that target demographic that is avoiding Tesla due to sociopolitical, ideologically anchored reservations ? The adulation for ICE's is at least partially cemented in nostalgia. I can understand that. I'm old. But is that a good basis for a sustainable corporate business plan that is focused on timespans exceeding 5 years ?

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
