Audi Sportback Concept

Hunchback, eh? Well you seem to like the PAS, I fail to see how the backside of that car is more elegant than this. True, there's camo, but still...

Yeah, and you go ahead comparing apples to oranges. The PAS is a very different concept than this 4 door coupé is. This hunchback should be compared to the brilliance that is the Concept CS, CLS or even Passat CC, and it fails miserably.

I would say that we should wait and see the production model first.

On the other hand Klier is right. You can't compare a four door coupe like the Sportback concept to an R class clone like the PAS.

See, that's funny... how can a car with seating for 4, frameless windows & less room in the boot than a Touring be called a R class competitor? But it's not that novel as BMW marketing will have you believe either. You could almost say it is a cross between an allroad and this sportback concept. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of PAS (and I'm probably in the minority here on the forum), but come on... please be objective. This is probably as novel as that car, since only this and the Panamera have hatches, while other "4 door coupes" have, you guessed it - 4 doors and a conventional trunk. Now you may argue about which approach is better, but I like the diversity. And unlike the Panamera, this doesn't look nearly as stretched. In fact, the only "4 door coupe" I prefer to this is the Rapide... and the canceled CS.

Considering all you have seen regarding the PAS is spyshots of fully disguised cars with plastic cladding over the actual bodywork it is a little to early for you or anyone actually to give their opinion of the car.

Unfortunately the disguise make it look swollen and bulky but when the wraps come off you will see it is neither .
Again stop comparing this to the R-Klasse , That is an unfair description as the car is sleeker , lower and far more luxurious than the Mercedes MPV.

To be honest I see the Audi SportBack as more of an update of the C1 Coupe and C2 Avant.

I will compare the A7 4 door coupé with the F12 6er. Let's see how it will hold up then......not so good I'm afraid :eusa_danc:eusa_danc:eusa_danc

We should wait till some of the key features of the next F12 6er are revealed. The shoulder line ala F01 as Scott said, the new front (hopefully better than E63 one)...

But I think that given the way BMW is doing their Bangle 2.0, the A7 will have a very solid competitor.

I think the rear of the 6er is in more need of attention than the front. I like the car generally, even the shark nose, but the extrusion on the boot-lid is way too exaggerated - the most of any BMW. So funny thing - I know most of you don't care for the Sportbacks booty, I sure prefer it to the 6er backside :)

I don't have to wait for that ;) I am 100% positive I will love the car.
Exept of the E65, I loved all 'Bangle 1.0' cars, but his second generation will be even better.

I don't remeber who said that the opening of the trunk
(same as skoda twindoor concept / is on sale on the new Superb)
will not make it to the production car?

Well.. what's up with the Sportback name?
that way the trunk opens is the reason why the car have that name!

If it was a normal one like A6 it would be called
Audi Banana Concept or Audi A5 CC Concept

Sportback means 4 doors and a stationwagon way to open the trunk.

Just my 0.2

The A7 Concept (yeah, now even Audi themselves call it the A7 (Sportback) Concept instead of Sportback Concept :usa7uh:) on the road in LA:

Now this is a car that looks promising from Audi, well lets hope the final product looks as good as the concept.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
