While this new Tumbos version is arguably a bit nicer, let's not get carried away and call it great and the original a disaster. Both work and are sexy... and the changes to the profile fall into the minimal category of barely noticeable if not compared side by side. Also, don't forget that it is rumored that Audi plans on offering a Sportback version of every odd numbered series car. So, A1 "coupe" & A1 Sportback, A3 "coupe" & A3 Sportback, A5 coupe & A5 Sportback, A7 "coupe" & A7 Sportback.
And I like that idea... the sportback is probably almost as sexy and sporty as the coupe version (in the case of A3, I actually prefer it to the 3 door version), while being more practical than a sedan.
Avant will always be there for max utilitarian purposes and bigger family; a sedan is the default, "safe" choice for business people.

True, only that the a7 will be one bodystyle only, not two. audi might end up calling it a7 Sportback and not a7 coupe, but there will be no 2-door a7.

Interesting... so no direct competition to BMW 6er, or the upcoming E class coupe.
Though there was talk of a convertible A7, IIRC. It would be strange to see a convertible with 4 doors.

CLK = E-class coupe = 3-Series Coupe = A5

MB used the Ocean Drive in teasing us of a potential four door convertible. I'm eager to see if Audi beats them to it which I believe will be the case.

We've yet to see how MB will position the new E-class coupe. I hope you are right and that it will only command a slight premium over 3 coupe and A5, but I doubt it. There was talk of a new, C class coupe. Also, mind you that the gap between old CLK and the CL is quite big... but substitute E-class coupe with CL in my last post if you think it makes my point better

I guess the production car will feature a conventional boot lid - with a lower cut line just above the bumper crease. So the license plate will be positioned on a boot lid, and not being located on oversized bumper as seen on a concept car.

I´ve never seen a champagne-like colour that looks goo, the one on the F01 press pics is horrible, as it is the one on the Z4´s. I do hate that colour.
