this car is taking its time..
but by the looks of it..it will be worth it time 1000![]()
Going to be really interesting what engine this gets. It won't be a V10 as some sites have suggested.
Audi have taken their time because the compitition has increased. When you think that you can probably but a GT-R for what this will eventually cost Audi have to up their game.
First: it's not taking it's time because competition has upped their game. That is a "no sh!t" statement. If Audi didn't see that coming than they are not doing their homework. The RS4 took it's sweet as time, the TT-RS took it's sweet as time. The whole RS line-up always takes their sweet has time. Has nothing to do with the competition.
Second: I know how much we all love german cars here but there is no way this car will match the GT-R. This car wasn't built that way from the get go, unlike the GT-R which was built to take on the 911 Turbo. Even if Audi could do magic and make it happen, Porsche will put a stop on it with the quickness.
As was predicted by the Audi rollout schedule that was leaked almost a year ago, the super coupe will charge into battle with the BMW M3 wielding a mighty 4.2 liter V8 that's tuned to 450 horsepower (331 kW). This is the same engine that's currently used in the S5, but with an additional 96 horsepower. A seven-speed DSG gearbox is expected, as well as a conventional six-speed manual. Quattro all-wheel drive will be standard, of course.
Why not the 525-horse 5.2 liter V10 from the R8 5.2 FSI? Hard to say; either Audi's had fitment issues or the 4.2 is considered to be powerful enough to compete with the M3.
^A turbo charged 4 pot (no matter how good it is) will never gonna cut in a V8 dominating segment.
they should just stick in the tt-rs engine, up the boost, bigger intercooler etc and aim for 450hp and 600nm.
The 2.0 TFSI is already capable of 380hp and 540nm of torque on the standard turbo so thats the route I would go!
