Re: Audi R8 and Porsche 911 - drifting

Awesome video!

I'm surprised the R8 is so good at drifting, considering that it's 4WD!

Re: Audi R8 and Porsche 911 - drifting

It seem to be much easier to drift with than the RS4.

Great Clip.:usa7uh:
But I did not understand a S*** :D

You say R8 vs Gallardo .. So who won ?

Re: R8 vs. Veyron

Yeah the SLR suffered a similar fate.

Re: R8 vs. Veyron

Its hard to image a car with 1001 hp, being over 2 times the hp of the R8. The BIG BUG is just end-all of the automotive world, for the moment. If VW really wanted to get Bugatti off the ground they'd create a mega-luxury sedan around this same powertrain. That way Rolls, Maybach and Bentley can be vaporized also.

Wasn't there a tuner company that up-graded the Porsche CGT to a 1000HP? Now that I think about it I'm pretty damn sure about it! If my memory is correct they claimed there CGT could reach 0-60mph in 3.0 seconds flat, and had a top speed of 250mph. :eusa_thin

Re: R8 vs. Veyron

I'm not sure, but on paper at least the BIG BUG is still faster, ridiculous isn't it?

well put, before veyron, all but only the fastest of cars will perish.

Re: R8 vs. Veyron

Yupp, it's a repost. But seriously, 1001 hp vs 420 hp. What do you expect?
But put these two on a track, and then we'll talk.

Re: R8 vs. Veyron

There just isn't any standard production car that is going to beat the BIG BUG.

M
He he, yeah BIG BUG .....that's exactly it ;)

It aint pretty but damn if that thing didn't make the R8 look like a big wheel!:D
Well I don't think it is ugly .....it has presence and an unmistakable style.

I love both these cars. Thanks for the post RICHBOY :usa7uh:

Re: R8 vs. Veyron

I hear this occasionally. This car corners too. Clarckson said it handles like an elise in the mountains, and on the nordschleife, it's only 6 sec slower than a Zonda F. That's not bad for a 2 ton car on a 12Km circuit.

Don't get me wrong I don't think the Veyron is ugly, it's just not sexy imho. And I'd have to agree with you, this cars presence is undeniable!:)

That's pretty nice, but .. had the Veyron taken on a Caparo T1, it couldn't have left it in the dust like that ... Well not until after 330 Km/h. :D :D :D

And if the road wouldn't have been straight, but twisty, than the BIG BUG would have been really embarrassed.

I could just imagine a comparison between the 2 on a track. :icon_twis :icon_twis

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
