Renders Audi Q9

Rendering design concepts, development to final presentation, upcoming technology and development, and what is coming next
Yeah that's definitely not a Q9. I would assume it's a 3-row variant of the upcoming Q3 to compete with GLB, but looks way too small for a Q9 or even Q7.

hmm I think you're mistaken. There's absolutely no way this is a Q3 variant lol. It looks the same size as the BMW X7 if you compare spy shots. The hood is very long and more muscular than any previous Audi SUV, and to me, looks like it's housing a twin turbo V8...especially with those S line 22"/23" wheels.

Motorauthority, carscoops, autoevolution, motor1, etc are all calling it the Q9 as well..

It's pretty clearly smaller than the Q7.

I understand. Like I said, I think this is a 3-row version of the Q3. This does not look anywhere near the scope of an X7 let alone a Q7.

I respectfully disagree lol. They just released another facelift of the Q7 the other day. It's clearly not a Q5, Q3, or Q3 variant because it's much bigger than their spy shots and looks very different. It's not a Q8. The only option left is the Q9 that they have already mentioned is due in 2025....

And it clearly looks bigger than the Q7 you posted:

The Q7 is already 199"..add 4 inches and you get the same size as the bmw X7..

Looks smaller than the Q5 and bigger than the Q3 spy shots for me. Hence why I think it looks like a Q3 3-row. I will stand by it that this is not a Q9 nor Q7.

I respectfully disagree again. These are fresh spy shots of the upcoming Q5....how does the Q9 look smaller than this?!

It absolutely looks smaller than that. Taller and boxier visually ofc, due to MQB proportions, just like the current Q3 vs Q5.

The camouflage doing its job perfectly and burning brains, the 10 sausages, different sizes Audi history doesn't help much either, sometimes it looks like Q9 to me, sometimes Q7

Hmm I think you’re confusing this with something else. This is the PPC platform (an evolution of MLB evo), not the MQB. The camouflage type shows it’s not specifically being built for china like that Q6/vw atlas you’re thinking of.

Look at the SQ9 pics, it has four exhaust tips which means it has a twin turbo V8. In no world would a Q3 variant have 23” wheels with a twin turbo V8, or something built on the MQB platform for that matter.

Idk why you’re so adamant on this not being the Q9 lol…

I can say the same thing. Idk why YOU'RE so adamant on this being the Q9.

Quad tips = S, NOT necessarily V8. SQ2 had quad tips, so did S3, S4, etc.

I am very well versed with what PPC is, if I think this is a Q3 L, then that explains to you why I think this is MQB and not PPC. And the wheels do not look like 23" to me, they look 20" on the S.

Journalists calling this a Q9 is purely speculation, and I'll admit me calling it a Q3 is speculation too. Nothing is confirmed and I stand by my opinion that this is neither Q7 nor Q9 nor a PPC platform vehicle.

That looks like crap. Proportions are so weird, literally looks like a Citroen C5 Aircross from the side view. Also don’t understand how its a Q9 while its looking so small for such a vehicle. Its definitely not Q3 or Q5, and the Q7 just got a second facelift. Maybe they already started testing the next generation Q7, idk. But still, it looks horrible.

Do you know it first hand?
That looks pretty dated and uninspired if you ask me.
No I should have clarified. It’s just based on the spy shots, proportions, and design language Marc Lichte has showcased. Here’s an article posted 2 days ago stating the same.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
