Good news. The A8 lacks visual aspirations and with the R8 due to be discontinued, Audi needs of another flagship product. I wonder if a Q9 will allow the next generation Q7 to take on a less estate-looking shape.

I understand that the upcoming eTron GT will be Audis' flagship. A shooting brake derivative is also planned-or so I've recently read. A smaller, A5 sized BEV car similar in design to the eTron GT has apparently been approved by VAG/Audi decision-makers.

Of course, as mentioned by @SCOTT27, a "flagship" SUV (Q9...or would that be eTron 9 ?" seems inevitable.

it looks to be an atlas, lots of parts match, roof rack, rear to hook, but the atlas already received its facelift, so maybe an early mule for the Q9?
