At least more than Audi and Mercedes.

I leave the "the neighbor more" debate for the inconditionals. BMW has the most similar looking line up in 20 years. The fact that other manufactures are doing the same is a poor excuse if that is what the brand holds on its defense.

The Maybach has been underwhelming because, as you say, is just a long S-Class. But the VCF is exclusive now. What happens when BMW pastes that same front end to the 7er (maybe less concept like, with smaller grille but very similar overall)?

BMW is not currently known by differentiating their designs too much from each other.

The beauty about Laser Light Technology is that led units can become much smaller like the VFL but in the case of the 7er the light units are slightly bigger to incorporate LED headlights. So there is still a visible difference.
This will be true on all future BMW models where some will get L shaped headlights (reversed for Coupes) standard and upturned kidney grilles to identify some series models. Next years Gran Turismo concept car lays the foundation for the next 5er GT and subsequent GT family. And it does look very similar to this.

It will also usher in and preview Fuel Cell Technology.
It is inevitable that BMWi will indeed offer Fuel Cell Technology through the more mature stages of the BMWi brand.

But first BMW will preview the Technology in a vision concept that previews the next phase of The Gran Turismo series in early 2015.
In which it will be the lead in model for the next 5er Gran Turismo which utilises the same attributes as the F07 but joins its brother the 3er GT by being based on the next generation extended 5er architecture for increased room to retain and progress its first class ambience. The design is very VFL orientated including the interior.

No idea what you mean with inconditional, but it sure doesn't sound nice.
You can leave it whereever you want, but saying BMW cars look more alike than Audi cars is simply not true. And BMW has in the last 20 years not made two cars as similar as the S and the C.
It is however true that this family look on all cars pretty much comes from BMW. Audi simply copied that to the exteme, and now MB has started this too.

Sorry, I was not trying to sound offensive. But where did I say BMWs look more alike than the others? I say they look too alike, and that is a shame. Does it matter what other brands do? Does it serve as an excuse to justify a poor aproach by BMW lately to their designs? I say no.

S and C are almost a carbon copy, but that does not mean X3 and X4 are any different, or X5 and X6. Let´s not talk about Audi. Or about BMW interiors, or about Jaguar. It´s almost on every luxury brand right now. I say 20 years because 20 years ago it was hard to tell which model was a 7er and which a 5er. That changed afterwards, and now it is happening again. SCOTT says with certain irony how little effort has put MB in the Maybach lineup in terms of differentiation and this surprise me, as the G11 7er already looks like the VFC from the front, which makes it the same case if the concept is put into production with the same design.

I agree, what are we getting close to, the design for the new 7 series is set and done a long time ago, what are we getting close to with this concept?

Good question.
Audi basically did the same thing with the Prologue coupe. Concepts from Germany (or perhaps the automotive world), are to get the public (and press) a form of familiarity on an abstract level on what is to come without revealing too much of the production versions that have already been designed before them. These abstract forms, from the original production models might be designed to get us a little prepared on what to expect. Thay are not pre-blue print versions or ideas for the production models. I might be wrong in what I am saying here. If thay really do it this way it just makes perfect since to me.

Anyway my vote goes to the BMW.
It seems a bit more production-ready. The design is a bit more cohesive inside and out imo
I like the interior better as well with the exception of the tact on screen in front of the passenger.

I am not too fond of the Audi. I respect the fact that thay have to keep the DNA
in check but seems like a rehash of what thay have been doing already. Thay did not push the envelope
as a package on the Prologue. Only bits of the bling factor here an there, nothing new to me.

If there is anything the feedback tour has proved is that there are customers looking for a more exclusive BMW.

Well of course they are! You could have saved a lot of effort and expense by simply creating a poll in this forum about whether folks would like to see a more exclusive BMW. Saving that sort of money would have looked mighty impressive for your year-end performance review!

No in cases like this you have to show the people an idea of what to expect. And they have told us specifically...
Don't change a thing. It was the same with the CS Concept.

^ As stunning as ever. Just update the lighting tech to LED and Laser, and it's ready to go. Make the VFL the 7er and the CS the 9er :D

Poor CS. BMW can hardly to that design masterpiece. I has the priviledge of having seen it live back in 2008 in Madrid.

BMW needs something clearly sportier than the 7er above it.

Yep, that's glaringly obvious now. In fact, BMW could even have a car priced very similar to Rolls Royce and they still wouldn't really hurt RR, simply because of RR's regal history and brand image.
