I must say that this blows me away. Especially when envisioning it as a "civilized", more visually subtle road car.

New R8? Or the first A9 Coupe?

It actually possesses a visual architectural integrity that would make it an enthralling larger 2+2 GT. Compelling "non-snubnosed, sufficiently cab-back longlish hood" proportions . Could Audi perhaps mimic BMWs' 8 series theme offering 2 as well as 4 door derivatives ? Massive potential. Will Audi grasp it ?

Say what you will about the polarizing Shmee...But I interpret it as being quite an honour that the fellow was one of the first (if not the first) non-Audi employee granted "behind the wheel time" in this fascinating car.

A civilized version of this would be an oh so "SPOT ON" halo car for Audi ("eTron 9 GT" ?).

I eagerly await the presentation of the J1/PPE BEV architecture-based 4 door GT sedoupe due sometime in early/mid 2020. And wonder whether (and if so, how many) elements of the eTron Vision Gran Turismo will be adapted.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
