The Audi A1 is a luxury supermini car produced by Audi. Predecessor: Audi 50, Audi A2. Production: 2010-2026.

That Fiat 500 is even more retro-cutesy than the MINI. I'd have the same reservations about the image and still have to live with semi-independent rear suspension. Now, that's just too much of a compromise! ;)

I don't know what you're talking about, but this is an old concept. Not the A1.

Finally some evidence that Audi are planning on bringing the car to market very soon. It should very much be a 2011 car with a debut in Geneva.

The pre-production of the car has just began in Brussels plant. It was confirmed by Audi production chief in July that production would start in eerly October. Market launch is expected in early 2010.

:t-cheers:

I am interested to see what kind of marketing concept they have for the A1.
General consensus within BMW is that if they interpret MINI brand values to showcase the A1 we will be the first to voice our disapproval of their lack of originality.
Just like the BMW 1er Coupe "1ntensity" was "interpreted" to showcase the S4 right down to the abbreviated phrases.

Pardon my ignorance SCOTT, but what exactly transpired with the marketing campaign of the S4 that it imitated BMW's 1 series marketing campaign ? :)

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
