New 2024 Aston Martin Vantage Fresh spyshots reveal new look

Styling changes plus new tech

Hot on the heels of the new DB12, the next new model from Gaydon will be the heavily revised Aston Martin V8 Vantage, on a mission to nibble away at sales of Porsche’s evergreen 911.

Our spies have captured the 2024 newcomer on test near Aston’s Nurburgring test centre in Germany. Tellingly, the prototype is wrapped in a camouflage that’s more marketing message than pure disguise: it’s a fluoro-green wrap emblazoned with the phrase ‘Thrill Driven.’

Hardly the most subtle wardrobe for a top-secret prototype to wear…

You can ponder more strange car camos in our feature here.

What can we expect of the new 2024 Aston Martin V8 Vantage?
We have now spotted a brace of Aston Vantages on test, providing enough evidence to decode the trends incoming. It’s a major mid-life update to the Vantage coupe and roadster models (below), seven years after they first launched in 2017.

Even the light camo can’t hide the fresh style. The headlamps, in particular, are designed to give the Vantage a new face, replacing the thin horizontal lenses of the current sports car range with a more Astony, upright flowing light graphic.

Look carefully and you’ll see a subtly different outline to the Aston Martin grille, too.

Front bumpers are in turn reprofiled while the bonnet appears to ditch today’s clamshell set-up for a more conventionally hinged hood. The test car features bonnet vents, presumably to better cool the Mercedes-AMG-supplied V8 engines.

New tech galore
Stylistically, the 2024 V8 Vantage is still very much a junior Aston Martin and it’s more of a detail makeover than a fresh start. But under the lightweight aluminium skin, more serious changes are expected.

Look out for tuned bi-turbo V8 power, with extra brawn expected as standard and the company has already trailed the new infotainment incoming on the DB12. It signals the end of Aston Martin making do with hand-me-down systems from Mercedes-Benz or Volvo, and represents a major investment for the brand.

More details on the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage as and when we get them."

This car with the previous V12 wide body updated, totally new interior and 680hp V8 will be Aston-Martin perfected. The only reason to get the old car is the V12.

Agree at 200%! But new Vantage is V8 only from what i was told and 600hp, but top of the range car will be V12.

Refreshed Aston Martin Vantage Rendered With DB12 Influences

In March this year, Aston Martin’s chairman Lawrence Stroll announced the automaker will introduce at least three overhauled models this year. The first to arrive was the new DB12 and recent spy photos showed a refreshed version of the Vantage is also under development. Thanks to new unofficial renderings, we now know what the two-seater could look like when it arrives later this year.

These drawings by our friends at Kolesa.ru propose a radical design change for the front fascia of the Vantage. Spy photos (see the related links below) have already revealed there’s indeed a redesigned front end in the cards and these renderings propose a look that is heavily inspired by the recently unveiled DB12. Also worth pointing out is that the giant radiator grille at the front matches the look of the spied prototypes.

Being a sportier alternative to the DB12, the Vantage rendered here has a carbon fiber diffuser attached to the lower section of the front bumper. There are other aerodynamic touches, including larger air intakes at the two corners of the bumper and more aggressive side skirts. Not much has changed at the back, however, and the only visual tweak we see is the addition of small inlets in the bumper behind the rear wheels.

As far as the engine under the hood is concerned, we believe the Vantage will continue to rely on a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 sourced from Mercedes-AMG. In Vantage F1 Edition, that mill generates 527 horsepower and 505 pound-feet of torque. However, in the new DB12, the same unit puts out an impressive 671 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 590 pound-feet of torque between 2,750 and 6,000 rpm, suggesting the facelifted Vantage could receive a healthy power boost.

The highlight inside the cabin will most likely be the new infotainment system, which also made its debut in the DB12. Developed entirely by Aston Martin and not using Mercedes-Benz technologies, the system features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a new navigation system with online connectivity and 3D mapping, a mobile device application, and over-the-air updates.

"The chassis set-up is expected to take after the track-honed V12 Vantage, with improvements in poise and pace ranking high on the to-do list. Lightweighting is not likely to extend to a smaller engine, however: AMG’s six-cylinder wouldn’t work for the Vantage, Long said, because “the sound is so much” of the car’s raw emotional appeal. “We don’t BUILD TRANSPORT. We build DREAMS,” he added."

Yes, V8 will push more power and better sound!

That's worrying. I fear it will be too stiff and alienating.

I think this will be peak Aston:

"Reichman also said Aston’s road car operation will be making full use of the Formula 1 team’s resources, likely resulting in several tweaks in the Vantage’s design. The upgraded model was recently seen testing at the Nürburgring, revealing a smaller grille and smoother lines around the front end. The car's rear appears to have received a reworked splitter with a quad-exhaust set-up and more aggressive air ducting from the wheel arches."

There going to use Formula One resources! Let's wait and see. I'm an Aston Martin nut at the best of times but after the DB12 expectations will be high, particularly the interior!🙂

Formula 1 recourses might not necessarily translate well to road usage. Suspension tuning is a talent that takes multiple attempt to get right. Porsche are masters at it. Even their GT3 has suppleness to it that other sportscars can’t achieve without the car feeling too sloppy or too stiff.

Overall, going in the hooligan direction is probably the appropriate for the Vantage. Aston can’t have it and the DB12 as non-identical twins e.g same engine, similar suspension but different body styles.

Grand Tourer: DBX
Hyper GT: DB12
Supercar: Vantage
Hypercar: Valhalla

So what's the forthcoming DBS replacement?🙂
