Vanquish Aston Martin Vanquish Gen 3

The Aston Martin Vanquish is a grand tourer introduced by British luxury automobile manufacturer Aston Martin in 2001 as a successor to the Aston Martin Virage (1993). Production: 2024–present (Third generation), 2012–2018 (Second generation), 2001–2007 (First generation).

Looks pretty but the front is going to be garish with that massive grille. Can we go back to thin elegant grilles for Aston?

Looks like the successor to the 812 Superfast LMAO. Wrong brand. Performance will be much better, transmission and gearbox too. New interior will be a huge step up. DBS superleggera (I owned one) was awesome but not as fun / easy to drive within the city cause it just wants to go go go. Hopefully this one is better and easier to drive in low speeds and tight spaces.

Looks nice just a bit too similar to the other. They all look great, and everything else on the cars is totally different, just wish there was more diversity on the front too

Wtf are they doing. There is literally no diversity in the core line up now in terms of styling. Same head lights, same grill design, almost same bumper. On top of that the front end design in this shot of the vanquish looks the worst compared to the new vantage & db12, in my humble opinion. Hope the rest looks drastically different. They have to be willing to take some risks if they are serious about competing with the rest of the market again.

Yup, I think that's a shame too. I liked it when Aston offered (for want of a better expression) masculine and feminine designs, with the V8 being large and imposing, with the DB's look svelte and sexy. Now everything in the core line-up looks the same, including the SUV. The Victor (et al.) are a good attempt at rectifying that, but not enough, IMHO. Saw a Taraf in London a few weeks back (only the second time I've seen one in the flesh), and though it's hardly a stunner, it now massively appeals to me on the basis it looks like it's own thing .

The A-M Lagonda Taraf presents the dimensions of length and width similar to those of the G70/71 BMW 7er. Of course, it is considerably lower. And for a car that was first produced in 2015, it actually looks quite fresh. An interesting automobile indeed.

Agree with all said above. I have asked myself for a long time what the point is with Astons two grand touring models, and lately we have seen that they are looking more and more similar, the interiors are now practically the same, the engines are the same…

It will harm the brand in the long run. If you own a new gen Vantage or DB12 now, there will be nothing to excite you when your lease or finance experience. If you have never bought an Aston, the new designs don’t offer anything that you haven’t seen before.

It baffles me how top class designers aren't aware of this problem when even some dudes in a forum instantly recognize this issue. I mean don't get me wrong, I hardly find the Ferrari 12 Cilindri's design appealing, but at least it looks nothing like a Roma or a Superfast for that matter.

Part of the reason why I believe Aston Martin's deppreciate so fast is because the various cars in their core line up lack uniqueness. Because why should one get a new Vanquish when the previous gen DBS looks identical to the untrained eye of the general public.

I guess the reason for this dilemma can be largely explained by their financial troubles. For a lack of better words, Aston Martin is in deep shit and they need to turn a profit, and fast! Thus, they can probably lower costs and increase margins by using as many identical components in their mass production models as possible. This explains why we have ZERO variation in headlight, front grill and interior design across their core line up. However, this also comes with downsides as stated above.

For their special program (such as the Valkyrie, Valhalla, Valour etc.) this isn't as relevant since they can charge a huge premium (due to exclusivity) which easily offsets the increased costs of special parts in production.

What do you think? Do you agree?
