It's a very nice car. But I just watched the Topaz video on the Valkyrie on the other thread, followed by the above video. It felt like climbing down from the F35 Raptor to pet a purebred poodle.

If the Valkyrie didn't exist this would be the Raptor. IMO it's the AMG One with a proper engine.

You are quite correct. But the aftermarket last I checked had a glut of them available too. At a cost ofcourse.
Exactly. That's what I was saying. Lots of hybrid and BEV hypercars have been delayed or are still in development. Meanwhile on the used car market, you can buy an SF90 with delivery mileage at or below list price. At just under £400,000 it's a total bargain compared with the AMG ONE at £2.2m + the cars you had to buy in order to receive and AMG One invitation.

Given the insane amount of carbon on the Valhalla, Aston's inefficiency, I expect the asking price to be twice of the SF90 at around £800k. Hell, use inflation as an excuse to round it up to £1m for more headlines.

Bear in mind that the SF90 specs and production costs were locked in early 2019, well before the start of the pandemic. Performance and pricing was clearly ahead of its time if the Valhalla will launch 4 years later in 2023 with the same specs.

The SF90 does seem like a bargain for its specs and performance. It is even faster than the La Ferrari but is far less expensive. It's very surprising Ferrari didn't bring it in at a higher price.

Back in 2016-2018 when the car was in development, energy, fuel and supplies were cheaper. Logistics costs, challenges, supply issues and inflation were non-existent.

However, you can expect the successor to be EXTREMELY expensive. The car market has also changed and the appetite and demand for €1-3 million cars is greater than ever. Hence why Aston are developing the Valkyrie and Valhalla.

I personally cannot wait for a proper comparo between the One, Valkyrie, GMT50, and the rest of the hypercars down the pecking order (including the upcoming F250 from Ferrari).

It's fast, for sure, but based on the feedback from the car journalists who have driven it, it's fat and far from nimble around the corners. A proper supercar/track car has got to be quick all-around.

It's set a couple of production lap records though, no? Which isn't that bad at all. Hopefully the revised "Versione Speciale" will go towards addressing the weight issue, but it won't be a huge drop I'd think.

I think the issue is more about agility than the outright pace; quickness, as opposed to fastness. Like what I've heard F1 drivers say about their current cars: though faster than their pre-turbo predecessors, the new and heavier generation "labours" more with cornering, change of direction, etc.

Oh, I see what you're saying. That's fair enough, understood.

But other hybrids are coming so back to back tests will occur with Lamborghini and Aston Martin of all people! The Aventador replacement and the Valhalla very obviously as this is the relevant section. Exciting times.

Porsche Lamborghini and eventually Mclaren. It's going to get very crowded.:)

And Ferrari with the SF90.

This is an absolute beaut of a car, stunning with this paintwork. The interior also looks gorgeous with carbon and alcantara. Aston know how to design good looking sports cars,

A cool $900K and you need to put an initial deposit of $200K and then another $200K 6 months before you get the car.

Considering the shit show that is the Valkyrie, and considering the financial state of AM where they are approaching bankruptcy by the second, you would have to be quite mad to put a deposit on this car. Also, keep in mind that the current time-line for this car coming out is mid-2024 (and that's almost certainly wildly optimistic). By that time the Aventador successor will be out, the 720S successor will be out, the SF90 VS will be out and the new Mclaren and Ferrari hypercars will be only few months away.

When does this beauty go on sale? Or is it one of those that sold out before it started...
Gives several laps in design to McLaren

Beautiful car. I love it, in theory. In practice I’d never touch it. The Valkyrie issues have been crazy. Have to assume this will have similar issues. The company is in shambles. I wouldn’t want them to have $200k of my money….

The new Red Bull car is very interesting. But hypercars are like candy nowadays there's so many and so many variants I'm beginning to switch off to them to be honest, LOL!

And I Love them usually.🙂
