Hot! Aston Martin: News and What's Next

Better be the King of a village than a village...

I'm not so sure. Moers would not be joining AM unless he can make a difference in AM's business plan and model line-up. He would only be joining AM with the assurance from the AM Board and major shareholders that funding for future models will be made available.

Who would replace Moers at AMG? Markus Hofbauer?

Beyond that being the head of a prestigious brand is better than being the head of a prestigious sub brand, he comes from the most stable company in the world to the currently most unstable, mouse's head, or lion's tail .....

You guys are forgetting that Aston Martin is a brand that has been 1 foot in the grave, 1 foot Just outside the grave for most of it’s history. I’m sure Moers is the man for the situation, but it’ll take some heroics to get the brand out of straits.

I saw a recent aerial of Aston’s Gaydon plant; somber sight.

Or Toto wolff?

No one said Moers is bad for Aston. It's the o...

Agree, but I suppose the offer of becoming the CEO of an iconic automotive brand does not come around very often. This will most probably be Moers' last job and so will be his crowning glory.

The question remains: who will replace Moers at AMG?

Moers probably needed new challenge. At AMG he has done his magic, now we shall see what he will do here at Aston Martin.

Stroll's priority is F1 for 2021. After that I don't know what else Moers and Stroll have in plan.
Andy Palmer had plans for BEV models in the future, I hope they don't disappear suddenly.

This will either lead to Aston Martin's bankruptcy or it's salvation.

Not a big fan of this change, especially with Stroll deciding everything now. Imagine if they will try to sabotage Valkyrie or Valhalla so they don't compete well with AMG 1?

No question. Although character wise I see Moers as a risk to the AM brand. He’s an arrogant, sledgehammer type of guy. I hope he changes and stays away from his non filigrane, loud AMG approach and lives the AM brand.

I wish him all the best!

AM is too important for our industry to lose.

No question. Although character wise I see Moers...

AM has more lives than a cat, considering its' frequent experiences of staring into an abyss throughout history...and then...somehow getting through after all. Its' brand equity is anchored in a "coolness" that is an asset for the ages. And now, on the threshold of dedicated electrification which will usher an era in which design and style will become factors of utmost significance, we will see myriad purveyors of dedicated BEV platforms that would be more than eager to collaborate. Whether it be M-B, VAG, Rimac, Rivian, Bosch/Benteler, Tesla, Fisker or one of the various Chinese manufacturers. Whether Tobias Moers is the right person to guide AM into greener pastures remains to be seen. If so-good on him and, of course, the company. If not-there will be someone eager to put money down and take his place.

Better days are ahead for Aston. The DBX SUV will soon go into production and will substantially improve cash flow and profits for Aston Martin.

Couple that with a few mid engined cars + continuously improved V8 Vantage, and you will have a manufacturer that is resurging.

Moers is taking the ultimate career step which is to have the title of CEO next to him name. There are similarities in Aston Martin and AMG's DNA which makes him the perfect man to lead Aston's resurgence.
