DBX Aston Martin DBX - From Prototype to Official Release

I just can't believe this will start at $189k in the U.S. Maybe I'll change my mind in person, but I think starting at $115k would've been a lot more realistic.

But then again, the Urus starts at $200k...

Any new Aston Martin has ir price? Well, is an Aston Martin, SUV, but Aston.

I must have missed it, but is the 9-speed the Mercedes gearbox or one from ZF? I love the interior though. Now lets hope it drives like a taller Vantage.

They nailed it, however I think they should have branded it as a Lagonda, it’s not an Aston Martin.

It's cute, the interior looks nice, but it is an SUV. I really can't stand them!

Looks good. Makes the Bentayga look gawky and the Cully look blocky while the Urus looks needlessly cocky.
Aston Martin has silenced doubters. I am surprised by how good it looks. It’s actually very long but not that tall. Therefore it will have a sleek and athletic presence in person.

Its a proper full sized family car judging by the generous interior room, cubby spaces and features.

The only downsize is the fuel economy that is rated at 19.7mpg which means that short journeys during cold weather will clock 10-15mpg. A hybrid variant can’t come soon enough.

Other than that this is Astons first practical 4 seater.

Holy crap! It turned out great. Who'd have thought that traditional Aston styling elements would translate so nicely into an SUV design. Hmph, rather impressed.
Hopefully, for Aston Martin, it sells well.

I thought it looked bad on the road in testing, I thought it looked bad at Goodwood, and I thought the uncamo'd spy photos looked bad. Now that we've got high-res official photos, I think it looks bad... still.

My goodness man - what does it take to please you these days?

.. obviously.

If these manufacturers want to get into the SUV then fine, I get that, I just wish they'd be more original with the design because I don't think trying to graft the cues from long, low, wide, 2 door sports cars onto 5 door lifted hatchbacks works that well.

Well obviously now that you've stated this, that Aston's chances are pretty f#cked now. Would that move qualify as arse-over-kettle or head-over-heels. Methinks the former...

I said it long ago when I thought I knew stuff about cars... there's only so much a designer can be expected to do with the two-box SUV format.

there's nothing wrong with the way it looks but they are using the wrong brand, this works as a Lagonda, not an Aston Martin.
