X3/X4 [Article] The BMW X3 LCI

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. Now in its fourth generation, BMW markets the car as a Sports Activity Vehicle, the company's proprietary descriptor for its X-line luxury vehicles. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3, trading its practicality with a sloping rear roof which offers a sportier styling. BMW has indicated 2025 will be the X4's final model year.
The M sport front bumper isn't perfect, but it's certainly a whole lot beefier and muscular then the pre-facelift package. It also has a lot more dimension to it. I like!

Like Martin I prefer the standard bumper. Which doesn't happen often in the BMW line-up. But hate is too strong..

If we suppose that the real X4 will looks like the grey one then we see how close the concept showed the real car. That we see on both pictures the same background it don´t need a discussion. Sorry for off topic.

It's nice that they only made a relatively subtle change, and it suddenly aligns with the design language of other X models. I'm not too big a fan of this tank-ish look but it does look like a mini X5, and to me, its looks is more desirable than an X5.

^Agreed, on the road the new X5 looks a lot bigger than the outgoing model and certainly more and the modest increases the stats suggest. The X3 strikes the right balance of road presence without appearing too big among normal traffic.

I have seen the facelift some days ago. The font is vey nice and looks fresh. the whole car is pretty nice looks much more premium then before!

I finally saw one today. Looks nothing near the boring and indifferent pre-facelift version. BMW did a good job with this one!

i just don't get the curvy and all the other weird stuff that they decide are required for X models. e.g. the curvy headlights ; curved side swage/character line and the window upward curve at the side mirrors.. hope they won't over do these things going forward. in fact, doing it at the first place was probably an over-done anyway. don't know...
And, the best thing about the X3 is its right size, and that its ass is nicely packed in, unlike the X5 which has a fat ass like a MPV.

2016 BMW X3 will get new pricing and standard kit ahead of GLC arrival
1a37463d515a501069881e27fb39ec8f.webpNow that Mercedes-Benz launched the new GLC model that is replacing the old GLK, BMW has to do some math to see how their own offering stacks up. Therefore, a look over what the Sport Activity Vehicle brings to the table had to be taken.

In this regard, BMW decided that for 2016 model year versions the X3 will get more standard kit. That means the Enhanced USB and Bluetooth option will, from now on, be free on all models, adding things such as Mobile Office (text messages, e-Mail, calendar, tasks, contact photos, voice memos), Bluetooth sync for a second phone, library browsing via Bluetooth and iSpeech are going to be found in every car sold in the US. On top of that, the xDrive35i cars get the Harman Kardon sound system for free.

The prices for various options have also been changed. For example, the Driver Assistance Plus package comprised of parking sensors, rearview camera, Active Driving Assistant with stop & go, active blind spot detection, surround view and speed limit info will cost only $1,700 from now on.

The Technology Package made up of remote services, advanced real-time traffic information, Navigation system, BMW online and Apps and an instrument cluster with extended contents and head-up display will cost $2,750.

Of course, if you prefer standalone options and not complete packages, that’s still a possibility and there have been price cuts in this regard too. For example, the standalone Navigation system can be had for $1,950 now while the smartphone integration kit costs just $200 from $500.

Prices for the X3 start at $39,595 for the sDrive28i model, go up to $41,595 for the xDrive28i version, $43,095 for the xDrive28d and $47,345 for the xDrive35i. Prices include the $995 destination and handling tax.

From April 2016 the standard equipment of the BMW X3 and BMW X4 will also include multifunction buttons on the steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers and Cruise Control with Braking function. And new equipment lines will create additional scope for individualization. The range of variants available as an alternative to standard specification will include the new Advantage model alongside the xLine and M Sport models.

The Advantage model will include Park Distance Control (PDC) with sensors at the front and rear, two-zone automatic climate control, the storage package and, in the case of the BMW X3, also automatic tailgate operation (already part of standard equipment for the BMW X4 Sports Activity Coupe).

The Chestnut Bronze metallic shade will be introduced as a new exterior paint finish for the BMW X3 and BMW X4. And new variants will also be added to the selection of optional light-alloy wheels. New equipment options available for both models include telephony with wireless charging and the wi-fi hotspot function. Working together with the optional Navigation system Professional, the iDrive operating system now also offers innovative menu graphics for the Control Display in the BMW X3 and BMW X4, using tile symbols arranged side-by-side.
