Some details look a bit strange, but overall I like it.
Will it be released before the coupe/cabrio version, like 5 GT precedes 5 sedan & touring?

This pic shows frameless windows. But I've never seen suicide doors with frameless windows due to technical and safety issues. The RX-8 is the example. Care to elaborate, Scott? Will it have frameless suicide doors - or not ??

That chop seems somewhat old, it has too many of the current 6er's styling (obviously that's what this chop was based on), and most telling, it doesn't have the new BMW 'nostril' grille that is clearly evident in the new 6er spy shots....but I guess this chop was included to show the overall concept and shape of what the 6er GT will look like.

The car looks very 'comfortable' as a 4-door coupe - as in: it doesn't look like a 2dr coupe with extra 2 doors just added, and there aren't any shaping tricks like the MB CLS to give it a coupe look...and at the same time it doesn't need to hide its proportions with specially thought-out lines that we see on the BMW CS Concept, Dodge Charger, Bentley CGT and MB Ocean Driver Concept to give a coupe-like appearance.

Will the 6er GT be created off the standard upcoming 5er/6er platform and just sacrifice some front-row legroom and some boot-space, or will it be based on the stretched-5er platform (for Asian market), or maybe off the 7er's platform?

I really hope it shares a LOT of design cues from the CS Concept..it'd be a crying shame if that car and it's awesome design never sees the light of day in full-form.

Sorry I posted the wrong picture, someone sent it to me and I still had it on my clipboard, will be removed over the weekend.
You are correct that it is a current 6er bastardized to a 4dr Coupe , The real thing will of course look nothing like that , even though I have yet to see the clay model having seen only sketches and computer generated 3D models. Yes it will have frameless doors as structure is strengthened by additional aids in the roof , A and C pillars to accomodate the removal of the B-pillar. There is no additional quarter light forming the typical BMW hockey stick angle with the rear door having this incorporated. and the stepped bootlid evaporates into history , The new 6er in which the testing is currently on the Cabrio models , Coupe comes later but @ launch The Coupe will come first followed by the Cabrio. Is similar to when we tested the 3er Cabrio first , The time is taken to evaluate and identify the flaws normally associated with a Cabrio and correct them , however as the cars you see here are completely camouflaged. Vacumn injected moldings of plastic are stuck to the body , and then covered with camouflage film especially at the rear of the car to disguise some proportions and specific design elements.

Stick of Hockey? Do you mean Hoffmeister kink?, Won´t the F13 6er have it?.

Very alarming news if true. The Hoffmeister kink, twin kidney grill and quad headlights are trademark BMW design recognition elements that should not be played with under any circumstances.
Loosing the Hoffmeister kink is loosing the BMW identity.

Lexus has already copied the Hof Kink...if BMW gets rid of it then all the Lexus fan boys will say that BMW is copying Lexus. LOL

Read it again, guys. More carefully. :usa7uh:

As you can see Scott just says CGI above is wrong showing Hof's kink formed by third side window behind the door window. He explains that such detail is wrong since the kink is actually a part of door window on the actual 6er GT. As eg. seen on many other BMW cars (sedans)

:t-cheers:.

Firstly, he isn't talking about the F13 6er cabrio, but about the GT variant of the 6er. 6er cabrio will have Hofmeister Kink, and 6er coupé and GT too for that matter.
Secondly, Scott said that the Hofmeister won't be in the C-pillar on the 6er GT, but will be a part of the door design.

So relax, every BMW will have the BMW trademark design elements in one way or the other :usa7uh:

Thank you guys, perfect then. Now I only hope the 6er GT doesn´t have suicide doors, I prefer the normal ones.

On the other hand, I am really wishing for the suicide doors! They will definitely add more excitement to the design.

There was already a BMW, a M at that, with out Hoffmeister kink. I will let you guys guess which one.
