As for the cuicide door...I'd like to see them too. BMW has the tech (rolls) to make it work properly, and it would indeed be a very nice design feature for the 4-door coupé!

By all intents and purposes it looks as if the GT6 will be receiving rear hinged (Suicide , Club or Coach?) doors as a design element to distance the GT6 from it's competitors , The interiors will be similar to the 6er coupe and cabrio with only marginal changes but the layout of the new 6er which has the sporting driver orientated similarities with the new Z4 and indeed an evolution of the CS Concept with a cocooned driver environment with a sweeping console that will stretch from the transmission gate through to the rear seperating the rear seats.
GT6 will offer the rear doors for a bit more flexibility when travelling with passengers.

Incidentally The Mercedes-Benz CLS resides alongside the design models for reference to which is really the benchmark for a four door coupe , And who is to argue the proportions , length , height and premium feeling are just perfect , unfortunately the if the new car looks like a four door E-Klasse Coupe as some illustrations are suggesting then the classic elegance of the current car gives way to a Technical sculpted from stone feel .
Which is why BMW are working on the 6er GT to give it a fluid , elegant and a premium appearence like something captivating like a speedboat , or private jet , something you want to lust for if you have the money to spend.

So exactly like the RX-8 then (even though Saturn did it too). It will be interesting to see how it's pulled off because the door on the RX-8 is somewhat useful but not that much.

^ No, you're right. It'll be CLS/A7 like. A 4 door coupé sedan, the baby brother of the killed Concept CS. But now without B-pillar and with cuicide doors...so even more radical than CS was.

I always loved that detail on the RX-8, can't wait to see this 6er GT (name should be changed. GT can't stand both on the heavy 5er GT and on the sporty 6er. Although it suits the 6er much more than the R-class fighter given the history of such a name).

The BMW 7er Gran Turismo aka BMW Concept CS was cancelled. The BMW 6er Gran Turismo is very much in development but the production car will not arrive to late 2013 early 2014.

Scott, thank you very much for this information, it seems that this car would be a true competitior to the CLS Benz. Im curious to see wat BMW does in this market segment and would be a potential buyer of such a car
