Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
So, when I say that Merc advantage is from commercial vehicles, that is excuses with colored filter, and what about excuses like this:"If you take China sales out of the equation then worldwide Mercedes will be the best seller out of the 3 luxury brands". So take off your medical (and not a car company) "forgetting filter" and visit some old threads about sales figures from 2014, 2013,....there is plenty messages like this one, that i mention here...

BS because it isn't just because of commercial vehicles, and even if it was it isn't MB's fault that they offer more choice than BMW. Furthermore BMW is a biggest CHEAT there is when it comes to counting up sales: Forcing dealers to list demo cars twice in the "sold" column. Again you're just whining because BMW isn't #1 anymore nothing you can say that will change it. Deal with it and/or get over it.

It's all the new product. The E-Class will start rolling out this month or early next month in the U.S. as well as the S and C Cabriolet models.

All Mercedes needs now is nail the next generation of SUVs and they will be truly unstoppable.

Mercedes will certainly not be unstoppable with a new GLE & GLS :LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

^^ I don't see any difference between you and him. You are a hardcore BMW fan so is Merc1's inclination towards MB. Can we keep conversations here more civilised?

I see them, that's all that matters.
Ask the little dictator to be more civilised. Some people are just too invested emotionally, and things go wrong then.

I see plenty of differences, listing them would get a ban though.

Btw,the C Class(9XXX unites, sorry,I don't remember the exact number) overtook 3er(8XXX) in sales last month in China for the first time and targeting the A4L now.

The C-class has lost its mantle here in Oz. Sharp pricing of the F30 LCI and a limited engine range for the W205 have cost it sales. As has the introduction of the GLC which is on fire.

• Mercedes-Benz delivered more than one million cars to its customers worldwide in the first six months of 2016 (+12.1%), more than ever before in half a year. • In the core regions of Europe, Asia-Pacific and NAFTA, new records were set in June and in the first six months. • In China, the biggest single market, sales by Mercedes-Benz increased by more than 30% in the first half of the year. • The SUVs from Mercedes-Benz continued along their successful path and accounted for one third of worldwide unit sales in June.

BMW Outsells Mercedes in June to Narrow U.S. Luxury Sales Gap

July 1, 2016 — 12:34 PM PDT

  • Mercedes holds first-half lead of more than 9,000 deliveries
  • None of the three biggest premium brands posts six-month gain

BMW AG’s namesake brand outsold Mercedes-Benz and Toyota Motor Corp.’s Lexus last month in the U.S. as all three of the market’s largest sellers of luxury autos ended the first half behind their year-earlier totals.

Deliveries for BMW in June slid 10 percent to 28,855, according to a statement Friday. Even so, it topped the 28,473 sales by Daimler AG’s Mercedes, a 1.5 percent gain from a year earlier and a June record. Lexus reported a 1.3 percent decline to 25,779.

June was the first month this year that BMW outsold its two rivals, after capturing the full-year sales crown in 2014 and 2015. BMW relies more on cars than sport utility vehicles, running counter to the recent preference of U.S. consumers. The Munich-based automaker finished the first half with sales down 9 percent to 153,436, trailing Mercedes by more than 9,000 deliveries.

  • Sales of BMW’s X3 SUV were up 69 percent last month and its 2 Series cars more than doubled. But the brand posted declines of 2.8 percent for cars and 24 percent for SUVs.
  • Mercedes reported gains of 48 percent for GLK and GLC sport utility vehicles and 28 percent for the GLE and M-Class SUVs, along with a 5.8 percent increase for the revamped E-Class cars. The brand closed out the first half with a 1.3 percent decline from a year earlier.
  • The four SUVs sold by Lexus showed an 11 percent increase in June, while its car models declined 14 percent. Deliveries for the luxury division of Toyota City, Japan-based Toyota for the first six months fell 4.6 percent.
The sales figures don’t include BMW’s Mini models or Stuttgart, Germany-based Daimler’s work trucks and Smart cars, which aren’t luxury vehicles.

What a misleading headline, BMW is still over 9300 units behind Mercedes YTD and they only outsold MB by a 382 units in June. Hilarious. They really didn't do anything to the gap.

Wow so Mercedes could be on 2.1mill cars by end of the year.

I would like to know the 1/2year sales for Audi and BMW, they probably not that far behind.
