Even more remarkable is at this rate, BEVs will cross 50% before end of 2024.

A Model 3 was announced to be $35k, but now is $47k. Battery prices are going up, not down. Read the link in the BEV thread, it's pretty interesting.

And looking at those maps of the U.K, my city alone has more chargers than that lol

I know, a Model Y is now almost $70k car here. And it is still sold out for rest of the year. Everything is more expensive now, inflation, war etc...

We had third world like inflation last month, near 12%

Like, what the actual f#ck?? Gas and energy prices overall are in a massive crisis like you wouldn't believe... But everything is more expensive, even in regular groceries.

I paid almost $100 last week to fill my wife's car for the first time. Went home looked up model Y - 70k! f#ck that.

On bright side, nothing compared to the price what Ukrainians are paying... so I will happily bear this if it even remotely helps to stop that mad man.

Europeans are helping Putin, because we pay him more than 80 million a day for his gas and oil, for which we have no quick alternative. All the rest is peanuts.

Why do you consider a map of Tesla chargers that appears favourable against Ionity as "Informative", but yet think a map of Tesla chargers against BP chargers to be stupid shit... or that I'm dumb for doing posting it?

A few years ago, I expressed the importance of carmakers building their own charging infrastructure being vital towards long term success and I was merely backing that claim with data. I posted the ionity map because ionity is jointly owned by BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Ford, Hyundai etc to show how dismally slow their progress is in spite of pooling resources together. No need to blow a fuse mate, just put me back on your ignore list and pootle along.

Or do you just involuntarily lose your composure and lash out every time he posts something?

Lol it’s all that pent up anger Matski feels from hating on Tesla for so many years and then waking up to the shocking reality that they’re the best selling cars in his country. Tough pill to swallow innit

It is a pity he made the whole anti-Tesla thing so personal and then project that on to you.

BMW Group steps up rapid pace of growth in electromobility and more than doubles sales of fully-electric vehicles in first quarter

"Especially the BMW iX and BMW i4, which both will soon be available in markets worldwide, are making a significant contribution to the ramp-up of electromobility. In 2022, the company aims to again more than double its sales of fully-electric vehicles compared to last year."

"The BMW 4 Series, which combines the brand’s hallmark driving pleasure with sporty elegance, delivered a particularly impressive performance: Sales for the first three months nearly doubled year-on-year, at 27,704 units."

US Q1 2022 BEV sales

What is notable is EQS doing much better than iX, which is the opposite of the case in Europe.

Polestar is missing from the chart, but Google says they sold ~1500 Polestar 2s in Q1.

There's some interesting contrasts with the US/German market. In Germany the end of life BMW i3 is outselling the VW ID3 but the opposite is true in the US. I'm wondering if everyone is flocking to the i3 because of the bad software in the ID3.

I think it might be a small city car thing, which always sells well in Europe vs US.

Panamera is doing quite well compared to the Taycan. I was expecting 3 Taycans to 1 Panamera.
