Both cars are truly great. Choosing one is entirely subjective.
I really didn't like the hump in the dashboard in the E65/66....so I also don't like the Merc's hump that seems to be inspired by that on the previous generation 7er. Other than that, there isn't really any design feature on any of these 2 cars that I dislike.
I think it comes down to the driver. Do you prefer a more spory ride or a more comfortable one?
It's the 7 for me :t-cheers:

Suddenly for me it becomes a contest. Having now seen and sat in a 750i, the 7's interior is a compelling reason to pic it over the S-Class. Its newer and just as comfortable from a seating point of view, however the S still kills with the AMG sportswear. I'll take a S550 4Matic with the AMG pack please. Awaiting the S-Class facelift also.

S-class doesnt look special without the AMG package. New 7-series have the better exterior and interior. I prefer sport with a touch of comfort. And the twinturbo engine is a masterpiece, faster than the S550 and if my memory is correct the engine is also more fuel efficient than the engine in S550.

The sclass is now more then 3 years old yet when you see it it looks new.
I think the s class design is very classy and elegant just what a car off this segmant should be.The interior is perfect again sheer class and elegance the buttons are all well placed the qulaity is amazing. And ergenomics are fantastic

The 7er is also a very good car but i find it bit bland out side and the interior toomuch x5 or x6 for my liking

Even without the facelift i would take a S class....

The S-Class still looks great and it is an aweseome car - with the facelift it will be a even more great again!

Neverthelss I voted for the 7-series - not because of the design. Both cars look great and both have its own charme and lovely design elements. But the 7-series interior gives me that feeling of beeing at home - beeing at the right place. Love the seats, the dashboard, the center console. Everything is just perfect, and fits perfect to me!

Definitely the S for me,nothing outclasses it out there.

I am going with the 7, it looks fresh, sleek and more dynamic.
I dislike the double hump on S dashboard, S looks like a hippo.

^^^ Same here! Beside being fresh, she is cheaper, faster & better performer than S-class! :t-cheers:

While I like the new 7, I'd pick the S class. I don't have any problem with the 7's exterior, but I do think its interior is too busy, and will look dated in a few years like what happens to most BMW interiors. The S class interior is simple, elegant and still fresh.

I would pick the S-class without a doubt.
The new facelift of the 7-series looks plain and bulky, but still decent.
But compared to the benchmark in luxury sedans, there is no doubt in my mind.
The S-class looks much more elegant and classy than the 7-series, both interior and exterior.

I will take 7 class exterior, with S class interior and S class ride please. If I had to pick, would be pretty even, but would go with S class. :t-drive:
