And there really wasn't anything wrong with the way the old 7 drove, it was the look/styling and ergonomics that hindered it. I drove it several times and liked it, but to have 9 different buttons to adjust the seat was just overkill. Complication just for the sake of doing so...something that characterized the whole car for a lot of auto writers and buyers alike.
That's true, the previous 7er felt really light and nimble, while not beeing too hard. Only the appalling finish/materials and strange ergonomics, along with its very heavy look, were real problems. The reliability, too. But nothing wrong with the way it drove/felt on the road.
