I'm starting to get lost with all the different Avants currently being spied. So there is a Rs6 avant, that is supposed to be madder than the performance, a A6 avant e-tron and a A7 Avant being spied currently. Also the a5 Avant

Opposite - A7 will be ICE and A6 will be BEV.

Next-gen odd numbers = ICE (A5, A7, Q3, Q5, Q7)
Next-gen even numbers = BEV (A4 e-Tron, A6 e-Tron, Q4/Q6/Q8 e-Trons)

It appears to be a conventional 4 door sedan rather than a Sportback hatchback. Unless Audi has mimicked the Skoda Superb hatch-sedan theme. Perhaps the Sportback will be reserved for the A6 eTron. Whatever...standard undramatic yet pleasantly tasteful Audi "meat and potatoes" design fare.

The past few years at Audi AG have been tumultuous. Highly public software issues, slow progress in solving supply chain issues, recalibration of BEV strategy, replacement of design chief, new CEO leaving few stones unturned and finding himself confronted with many issues inherited from his predecessor that need to be resolved...all of this leading to significant new product presentation delays. It is quite possible that we will be seeing the first official press images of the A6 etrons and Q6 etron Sportback within the course of the next few weeks. The official presentation of the facelifted and technologically substantially updated etron GT should be coming soon as well.

Automotive media reports continue to predict "summer 2024" for the official presentation of the A6 etron Sportback/Avant models. That of the Q6 etron Sportback is to "follow shortly afterwards". The facelifted etron GT-"sometime later this year" As for the ICE/PHEV A5 and A7 models, the A5 will allegedly be presented in "late summer to early fall 2024". Presentation date of the A7 models is yet unclear, some media reporting "early-to-mid 2025".

Good looking proportions with the rounded roofline and retaining 3rd box, a little concerned about the longer front overhang but the powerdome hood does look good.

It will be sedan and avant only. (Unless the sedan seen in these photos has a hatch opening instead, in which case will be sportback and avant only)

IMHO looking far better than the images of the A6 etron we have seen so far. And as mentioned, could we see a "notched hatch" solution similar to that of the Skoda Superb sedan ? Hopefully, Audi will present an RS7 version of this sedan.

One can already see that this car, regardless of whether sedan or Avant, is going to be immensely more visually attractive than the A6 etrons. I must say that in retrospect, I find it a pity that Audi did not take the route taken by BMW with the G60/61 5ers. This A7 with a BEV powertrain could have been an enticing complement. Actually, the same applies to the W/S214 M-B E-Class. The EQE sedan, like the A6 etron, is hardly "good looking".

The A7 sedan would have worse proportions if it took BMW's route for a ICE/EV platform split.
