A6/S6/RS6 2026 Audi A6/S6 C9 Spyshots

One can already see that this car, regardless of whether sedan or Avant, is going to be immensely more visually attractive than the A6 etrons. I must say that in retrospect, I find it a pity that Audi did not take the route taken by BMW with the G60/61 5ers. This A7 with a BEV powertrain could have been an enticing complement. Actually, the same applies to the W/S214 M-B E-Class. The EQE sedan, like the A6 etron, is hardly "good looking".
Aside from the plastic front of the A6, the designs are very similar, and what makes the A6 ugly is the bulk that the batteries added, same would happen to this A7 if it was electric. The problem is with batteries, not the design, though one can only wonder how can Tesla make sleek and pretty sedans since 2010 and the germans cannot.

Taycan and e-tron GT are also sleek, even more than Teslas so there is something else.

The A7 sedan would have worse proportions if it took BMW's route for a ICE/EV platform split.

As an admittedly not very "tech savvy" person, could I suggest something along the lines of the J1.2 architecture ? J1.3 so to speak ? That may provide that desirable "low and sleek" aesthetic, similar to that of the Taycan and etron GT. Battery tech is also moving forwards so rapidly that the issue of battery bulk and especially height will be soon addressed.

...and perhaps at least "remotely relevant"...

THIS displays the the possibilities of cutting edge, electric architectural tech for very sleek, very low larger 4 door vehicles:

This thing is going to be incredibly wide and sexy.

Powertrain is TBD, but this early mule using the RS5's front clip makes me think the rumours of it switching to ttV6 PHEV is true.

We'll see, but that would keep the weight from increasing too much. If they go to a V8+PHEV then that would likely make it heavier than the M5T.

A little longer possibly?

With regard to the overall length of the upcoming A7, a good guess would be somewhere between that of the W214 M-B E-Class and the G60 BMW 5er. Perhaps just a few millimeters over the 5000mm mark. As for overall width, the A7 may surpass that of both the W214 and G60. In excess of 1900mm for the "standard versions" and maybe some 1960mm+ for the RS variants. Height-wise, it looks to be a bit lower than both the W214 and G60.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
