X7 [Spy shots] G67 BMW X7

The BMW X7 is a full-size luxury crossover sport utility vehicle manufactured by BMW. It is BMW's largest and second most expensive SUV in its line-up. The X7 was first announced by BMW in March 2014. It was officially unveiled on October 17, 2018, with pre-orders being taken online. The X7 has been available at dealers since March 2019.
The 2nd row is fine, it's the 3rd row and overall cargo room that needed improvement. If it drives as well as the current X7 I will strongly consider going that route vs. GLS.

Not sold on the front, especially the M packet one, but the rear and the rims are very nice. Overall the whole car looks more premium than the current gen, I hope the real deal is close to this

Good renders, with interesting details but still very similar to the current one; I think the real one will look much more modern overall, maybe about a year until its release?

Very good. 😊 you have captured the look that we know is inherited from the LCI 7/i7 and applied it the outline of the prototype. Face ass and all. 😆
Lol, sort of. Prototypes are still heavily camouflaged so certain details are just my imagination + the current design language combined. I think it will look very similar to the 7er LCI though.
Rear end is totally different from the 7er btw.

production starts in Sept 2027 so probably reveal April / May 2027

Thanks!, I remember that not too long ago, the time between a model's unveiling and its production/sale launch was only about two months. It seems that's changed quite a bit, now taking up to three times as long.

I wonder if unveiling them so far in advance is to retain/attract buyers so they don't leave due to the huge increase in competitors and the many more options currently available.

IMHO it's due to the nature of the modern world and social media. Information overload from many, many sources that just didn't exist 30-years ago means car brands have to make a lot of "noise" to stand out. Cars used to be unveiled at a motor show and that would be how customers found out about what their next new model looked like. Today, social media means each manufacturer wants to get a "jump"on their competitors by unveiling what's in the pipeline, earlier. The multitude of outlets means they have to have teases, pre-launch rides, interior reveals, steering wheels reveals...it's all a bit tiresome. It's a long way from when the E-Type Jag was launched in 1961; it was literally driven overnight from the factory and straight into the Geneva Motor Show...

9600 HP left Browns Lane for the trip to Geneva later than originally planned. Rather than transporting it, Berry drove it all the way from Coventry to Geneva, catching the midnight ferry from Dover. Being delayed by fog between Calais and Reims he arrived with 20 minutes to spare after the drive of his life, “good God, Berry, I thought you weren’t going to get here” Sir William Lyons said, as the car was quickly getting wiped clean for the big reveal.

Berry recalled, “it was the only car I actually drove flat out from one end to the other of a journey, simply to get there on time. It was the most incredible journey and I’ve never forgotten it.”

Great anecdote, a less boxed-in era, more on the razor's edge. I suppose there are many more like it in the industry and elsewhere.
