The more I see the more I like. The i7 is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

And @Mr. Mercedes did the exact opposite. We have cars to everyone's liking, and we'll see who sells more cars in 5 years.

Probably BMW given Mercedes' ambition of primarily focusing on high margin vehicles.

What interests me is how BMW has addressed the drag coefficient of the i7. It would be one hell of a knee-slapper should the i7 present a more slippery cW than the "One Bow" EQS. An i7 that clearly upstages the EQS in terms of efficiency will prove to be very embarrassing for the M-B "Glibmeisters".

Cost-cutting is one thing, but Mercedes engineers still know what they're doing. No way this thing is as aerodynamic as the EQS. It may have a more efficient drivetrain but that remains to be seen. I believe the iX is the showcase vehicle for now (could be wrong).

I think BMW is going to achieve a landslide victory in the targeted class, this time around with the G70.

It will not be easy to beat it's eternal competitor, but....
- it will have up-to-date internal combustion engines and what's more, BMW have said to develop them further in future, which MB has said, they will not;
- it will have an electric counterpart, the i7, that will not rub off in a negative way (designwise) on the normal 7er;
- MB wasn't focused in developing the new S class/W223, because they were dividing there attention between S and EQS. Even worse, most S class buyers have noticed it. BMW don't seem to have this problem;
- the quality of the car as such, especially the interior, has deteriorated going from the W222 to W223. Apparently, as per @EnI , this isn't the case with the transition G11 -> G70;
- it's design seems to have loads character, which one may or may not like, but will not leave you untouched. In that respect, it will have more distinctiveness than the current, somewhat bland looking, S class.

Landslide victory? Doubt it, unless you're not including EQS sales. I will let the opinions go as you're entitled to them but the first point is just factually incorrect. Mercedes said they will be stopping development of new ICE engines, not stopping development altogether. As BMW as shown themselves with the extensive and continuous upgrades with the N63, that doesn't mean Mercedes engines will be be uncompetitive. Further, they'll be complimented by hybrid assistance that will continue to get better.

It seems that some here want him to present a BMW ID with name and title to prove it.

I remember of the former member of GCF who made excellent renderings here and today he is one of the design directors of BMW (I think his name was Hussein and he is responsible for the latest X6), and you know what? he no longer writes here... and neither Pieter Note.... why would it be?

From a certain position small data and information can be given, it is not always 100% correct, sometimes it is 0% correct but it is that or nothing, or are things always 100% safe in our work?
AVH will not send us the official sketch of the i7 yet.

Back on topic, I did see the new 7 series and it is more or less a mixture of these three:

Good point, well presented.

Now, the G70. I for one am looking forward to the reveal, and I'm really glad there haven't been any leaks so far.
Exactly. I don’t think I’ve ever been this much excited for a car reveal ever before. I assume it’s just the curiosity of how the double headlights will end up looking like lol.
We already have a pretty clear idea of how the interior will look but the exterior still remains a mystery.
Btw, don’t know if you guys also realized this as well but new prototypes seem to show the new side profile graphics.

Were what you've outlined in red indented, I would swear that it screams "Audi" :p

Forgive me if it's been asked already, but does this new 7 get these new engines that were recently talked about from the BMW execs?

As much as i would like it to happen, i don't think so because they've said they are developing new I6 and V8 engines and since new 7er is around the corner i don't think it will get them that soon...

Maybe they will introduce the new engines in a year or so

As per Ynguldyn: “G70 US launch models: 740i (B58TÜ2, 370hp), 750i xDrive (S68, 535hp), i7 xDrive50 (480hp). 750ix is interesting in that it doesn't have an M in its name but will be offered with the usual list of M Performance parts (steering wheel, body bits, suspension, etc.) as standard.”

So the I6 will be a evolution or technical update of the current B58 TU2 and the 750ix will get the M engine (S68) from the XM albeit detuned.

S68 is the new V8. V8 developed by M only this time hence the 'S''. I believe the 8er FL will be the last non M V8.

so there will be a V8 with a 760Li option right?
If you want something at the "60" level, it currently looks like you be buying the i7 M60. Top combustion engine is the hyridised S68 V8 in the "M750e". The flagship (in terms of power) at this stage looks like being electric.

I'm only going on the official rumours posted elsewhere on the internet, not from personal knowledge... but it seems accurate.

If the i7 looks close to this its waaaay more beautiful car than a EQS and it will outsell it immediately,i like the design language and the XM CONCEPT front just fits here perfectly dont know why

One of the better renders i've seen recently.
