Will there even be a SWB/LWB double offering maintained?

We have seen both SWB and LWB prototypes testing and I believe i7 will also follow with both wheelbases just as 745e is also in SWB and LWB.That's a good question.
I would have gathered that "G71" is the designation for the LWB version of the G70. But could it be that "G71" is the designation for the i7 ? That would seem a bit odd to me...
Mmmmm, I think the grill still has a lot to sayWe can finally see the top part of the grille
I hope soWill there even be a SWB/LWB double offering maintained?
Very XM. The new face of the BMW GKL Klasse. And the lower, main headlight units as well ... How deeply into the nose they are pushed ... Very 3D.

The trunk has thick cladding under the taillights. Possible for a hidden light bar underneath the exposed taillight shape, to make for a dual taillight set up like the headlights?Mmmmm, I think the grill still has a lot to say
I hope so
It almost reveals these kind of iX lights:

Good chance that area will protrude much like the X6.
I think the rear lights look quite similar to the X6, they are very thin.Mmmmm, I think the grill still has a lot to say

I think it'll be a sedan version of the iX rear, visually. Minimalist, straight and clean. So unlike all the wild shapes and lines the X6 features.
And right now I'd say definitely no light strip. The shape of the rear lights is pretty clear from that last shot from the rear: bending downwards in the middle, and upwards on the outer side, much like the 3er but more subtle and narrow.
Thanks @EnIThe taillights are thin(er), yes. Graphically more minimalist, like the ones on iX, but 3D in profile like on the current 7er or eg X6, not smooth & "2D" like on zhe iX.
But the lower vertical part of the trunk lid is 3D, protruding out just like on X6 ... just like @GTA45E said https://germancarforum.com/threads/2023-my-bmw-7-series-g70-g71.60214/post-1057135
No, no light strip. But chrome strip above the taillights & across the trunk lid, as seen on BMW VFL Concept (btw, G70 features quite some styling & design cues from VFL Concept): https://www.bimmerboost.com/images/imported/2014/04/P90147072highRes-1.jpg
But more like this ... take it or leave it ... ? :

Yes, it's a mighty, 3D, sculptured, "layered", bulky rear (vaguely in X6 or 2er GranCoupe manner).
Just like the front is mighty & bulky. In general the G70 is big & bulky but it still oozes elegance.
G11 7er facelift gave you the idea, where the styling for G70 is heading: bulky elegance. So is - sort of - the BMW XM Concept. Yes, the top line (7er, X7, XM and the iM) will feature very prominent "in-your-face" styling which may eventually trickle down a bit to the other models in some elements.
The silhouette gives me very Audi-A8-ish vibes, somehow. Much more than any other contemporary 7er. Maybe it's the roof line, i don't know.
Also ... I think this time MB blew it, cardinally. i7 is much, much better (more striking, more composed, more upscale) looking car than that turd of EQS. What the hell did the designers @ MB thinking?![]()
That's easy, but what about the S-class?(more striking, more composed, more upscale) looking car than that turd of EQS.

That seems to be difficult, since it looks oriented to design, space and luxury, it must fight with the EQS and the S, the Cw is surely better than the second but not the main objective. What interests me is how BMW has addressed the drag coefficient of the i7. It would be one hell of a knee-slapper should the i7 present a more slippery cW than the "One Bow" EQS. An i7 that clearly upstages the EQS in terms of efficiency will prove to be very embarrassing for the M-B "Glibmeisters".
In the video of the aero testing the computer screen can be seen and it showed the drag coefficient of 0,25-0,26What interests me is how BMW has addressed the drag coefficient of the i7. I totally agree, compared to EQS, i7 has so much more elegance in terms of proportions, almost statesman like. Initially I had thought that the typical customer for this type of car would want to take the radical approach and prefer the EQS over i7 but the more I see the EQS and the reveal of the i7,I think it will be the other way around. Also ...
