Alpine A290 2023 Alpine A290_β Concept

An Alpine-branded high-performance variant of the Renault 5 E-Tech, it uses the more powerful traction motor from the Mégane E-Tech, which is rated at 160 kW (210 hp). This Alpine variant retains the front-motor, front-wheel drive layout of the Renault 5 E-Tech, but the track is wider for a sportier look.

Color scheme is inspired by this season's Alpine A523 F1 car

It will be heavily based on the future Renault 5 EV supermini

Renault's R.S. (Renault Sport) division which had spawned the iconic Clio R.S. and Megane R.S. has already been absorbed by Alpine. Any future sport flavored Renault model will be part of the Alpine brand universe:
  • Either an Alpine branded standalone model, all of which will be full EVs (e.g. future A110 sportscar EV; future Macan-rivaling compact SUV EV = A490?)
  • Or an Alpine rebranded, slightly redesigned, Renault-based EV model (e.g. A290 supermini EV)
  • Or an Esprit Alpine esthetic trim level of an existing Renault branded model, a la BMW M Sport or Volvo R Design (e.g. Clio Esprit Alpine, Austral Esprit Alpine)

The yellow R5 in the photos is still the concept right? The real production has not yet been presented?
So there will be a "normal" renault R5 and a hot version that will be Renault Alpine, what will this concept be that they will present? I'm half lost with that
Without a doubt, they are beautiful no matter what.

Yes, that is the R5 concept and we will soon see the much sportier Alpine version concept. It will certainly share a few similarities with the Renault R5 Turbo 3E Concept:

These retro Renault concepts are more than nice, I like that philosophy at least for this generation of models, the current ones that have been around for several years are average as common

I think we are also getting a taste of the production R5 here also. This is far more developed and less “decorated” from the concept

Very good this one, a proper competitor for the Mini, I love that the 80's are back

It's full of nice details, central cockpit, and little things everywhere, those wheels and it also seems super compact, more than the R5

It's a damn shame Renault Sport had to turn into Alpine though. I would have liked it even better if this car was the new Renault 5.

Alpine, like Dacia/Polestar/DS/etc are made up marketing brands. AKA, fake.
